The true enemies of a free society are apathy, ignorance, and cynicism. These are powerful forces, but they can be countered somewhat effectively with optimism, curiosity, logic, empathy, and healthy dialogues. Human beings who treat each other with respect can easily discuss many things sensibly.

Doing stuff for yourself or your loved ones and experiencing real joys and happiness are all real victories over authoritarianism. Far right extremists are real kill joys, and they long to cause anxiety and despair to promote apathy and cynicism. It is definitely fighting the good fight to be happy.

Just wait. The billionaires have barely begun to streamline the workforce and also add AI to every aspect of our lives that they possibly can for the maximum profits they can yield in the short term. These masterminds donated millions to the President, and this President wants no regulations for AI.

If you want to feed the richest man in the world with your time, energy, and money you are free to do that, whatever your reasons are. Personally, I choose not to, for many sensible reasons, and I do not expect to ever regret such easy choices.

It is a very good time for her to speak. I think it could really help, and we could use all of the help we can get. I proudly voted for and volunteered to help Kamala Harris win for many sound reasons. I definitely do not think her value in our society should be overlooked, especially now.

Nobody should seek vengeance against Curtis Yarvin for his espousing radically stupid ideas that foolishly stupid people listened to and embraced. The best thing to do with someone as morally bankrupt as Curtis is simply to choose to not listen to him or give him any attention in the future again.

It looks like a pretty safe city if you can run a marathon with no problems, participating in a normal and healthy activity in the sunshine. At the polar opposite on the spectrum is typing falsehoods into your phone hoping to seize control of states and cities with the military for made up reasons.

Having lived through World Wars and economic collapses they had interesting ideas about avoiding buying stuff with credit, and also about patriotism being paramount in America so that we all could benefit from our freedoms and personal liberties. They were very serious about their values.

I spent a lot of time with three of my grandparents, and I honestly learned many valuable things from them, although I did think they dressed funny. There was a constant interest that they had in discussing and teaching morality to young people like me, and for that I am eternally grateful.

My grandparents' generation was considered very conservative when I was young. Generally, they had little tolerance for foolishness, hated chaos, thought integrity mattered, and despised far right extremists for many sensible reasons. We used to laugh at them sometimes, but I really miss them now.

It is intriguing what his opinions are, considering how rich, powerful, and influential he is. These bizarre statements by Peter Thiel do make one question the soundness of investing in Palantir, just as they make one question the soundness of giving Palantir government contracts for any reason.

Just as Justice Kavanaugh has created a new phrase in our common vernacular to immortalize himself forever as publicly supporting racial profiling against American citizens with Kavanagh Stops, it seems that several other Supreme Court Justices are eager to publicly disgrace themselves now.

If the President does not remember who was President during the riot his speech caused, it would appear wise to take his phone away from him so that he does not disgrace himself further, just as it would be prudent to invoke the 25th Amendment to protect the country from his obvious mental decline.

I did not realize there was a raging debate. I do not live in Maine. I thought it was just a simple choice between two seemingly decent candidates, both of which are most likely better choices for Maine than Susan Collins.

When an answer is a refusal to answer it is prudent to stop the person who refuses to answer from speaking further on the subject. It is perfectly polite to accept a refusal to answer as a reason to end a conversation. Time and energy are valuable, and listening to foolishness is a waste of both.

Ending conversations abruptly with people who refuse to answer simple questions is a sensible practice. There is no sane reason to allow foolishness to enter any sensible discussion. At the point that a conversation is no longer sensible, it seems wise to end it and find someone else to speak with.

I certainly did do the opposite long ago, as I thought the internet was a great place to weigh in on why I thought Obama should be the nominee and then ultimately the President. The experience taught me a lesson, that not everybody on the internet is remotely similar to who they say they are.
