One of the things about being a mixed media artist is that the tendency to get little paper bits just about everywhere is just kinda inevitable. This was made out of floor scraps that I picked up today.

I'm deep in the midst of the obsession with these little glass and gel print scrap thingies that I don't really know what to call them.

I keep making more and more...

Playing around with an idea for gelli print scraps... I got a jar of those little glass pebbles that you'd put in a vase and glued little bits of paper to the bottom... Might make good magnets? Hmm....

I decided to hang up some of my more commonly used paints over top of my gel print station and this is turning out to be a huge game changer!

I can see them, I can grab them and put them away quickly, and they're no longer taking up valuable space on the counter!!

These green and yellow gel prints were kind of delightful accidents. Neither of them pulled particularly cleanly, but I think it added a lot of interest that wouldn't have otherwise been there.

To me the whole thing feels like a marketing gimmick. So ridiculous and laughable it's bound to go viral and everyone will talk about it, thus driving traffic to the shop and then hopefully conversion to sales.. maybe not of the merkin, but of Skims other items.

My summer job is a wrap for the season, and now I'm home battling a cold that came on as soon as I was done. Not exactly how I wanted to start my time off. 🙄

The best part is the embossed paper that you're essentially using as a stamp ends up getting a layer of paint that can be used... I added some spray ink to these embossed papers.

Two embossed papers, one with dots and one with bricks, black paint accentuate the embossed pattern and spray ink in pink and orange have been added.

Somehow it feels right to have rushed from a gig in the midcoast to Gary Numan's show in Portland, ME... complete with detours from accidents and melting down over being late all the way to arrive exactly one minute early for the opener. How delightfully and completely autistic of us. 😂
