He/him Labels, like shirts, tend to fit too tight at the collar and too long at the sleeves, but if you treat me as a mediocre, cishet, middle-aged white guy, you're not going to be far off the mark. Might follow back if you'll add joy to my timeline.

Cynicism is corrosive to democracy. We're becoming more cynical, as a society, and that's why we're sliding into authoritarianism. We don't believe things can be better, so we don't demand it, and things get worse.

Fuck that. See the world the way it could be. And then help make it a reality.

There are very few circumstances under which I'd consider going to the US anytime soon, even if Trump is eventually thrown out.

Being invited to bring a pack of matches to the White House would almost certainly convince me to come.
Yes, but there's the name that the family use daily (sensible, everyday), and then a name that's particular (peculiar and more dignified), and one that you never will guess (that the cat knows and will never confess).

So someone referring to their cats would only use one, MAYBE two of the three.
"Nothing about him indicates that he holds any racist or anti-Semitic beliefs."

Other than the Nazi skull. Or the "Black people don't tip" remark. Or the deleted Reddit comments where he defends Marines with SS "double lightning bolt" tattoos.

But other than that, what have the Romans done for us?
It'd probably be unwise to sit on it any longer, given that the structure's been compromised.
No, that's the Rule of 72 goats.

Ken White's Rule of Goats is that you can't exert control over the ownership of a goat for longer than 21 years after the lifetime of a person living when the interest in the goat was created.
I don't think it's the thinking it that he cares about. As I recall, he's made productive use of that a couple of times.

It's just trying to install him onto the throne that he takes issue with.

The truth is, it's actually Lord Businessman III.

He's throwing people off by using his father's name.
Agreed. Maybe the quoted people can be excused, because they might not have been presented with the full context when asked for comment. For the "Common Defense" group, on the other hand, this is the kind of statement that spreads the shit onto them rather than cleaning any off of Platner.
Don't get me wrong: Will, Magnus, Kate, Henry, Biggie, Druitt: all great characters.

But Tesla is the best character in the show and steals every scene he's in.
"Here to move product and make friends along the way."

I don't know about the rest of y'all, but I think Mr. Rubin is doing an excellent job at both. I always make friends with, and buy stuff from, people who defend people with Nazi tattoos.

Number one in the American League.
American League Pennant.
Funnier than having a trade war declared on us and the White House destroyed a second time without us having to even lift a finger?
And it's not just the elected Republicans. A Gallup poll for September 2025 had 93% of Republicans approving of Trump.

There aren't enough "normal Republicans" to take the party back. It's the MAGA party, from the leadership all the way down to individual voters, and it has been for years.
They did.

They lost (see, e.g.: Liz Cheney).

197 out of 207 House Republicans voted not to impeach Trump after he sent a violent mob directly into Congress after them. That's over 95%, and it's only gotten worse since 2021.
The speech as a whole is awesome.

The first line (especially out of context), though, is a bit ironic for "No Kings," given the existence of a "Royal We."
