I’m always thinking about this passage from the Duskmourn story, where Kaito finds pause by his observations about Zimone.

Zimone here is relatable to how I feel as a newer player in Magic spaces, particularly online and especially when people talk about Magic burnout or Set Fatigue. (1/3)

Magic was super hyped for a while to make the Planeswalker symbol artworks and I loved seeing them adapted to each plane. From @rpancoast.bsky.social to @chasestone.bsky.social to @adampaquette.bsky.social and @tituslunter.bsky.social. They made for stellar computer backgrounds to hype a set.

I think I get annoyed at people who constantly talk about the profit motive ruining their favorite game because DUH. Its ruining everything. Its ruining healthcare and food and water and the free spread of information and its killing the planet and Magic the Gathering isnt even in the top 100 things

Where was I today? Learning and jamming games of @riftbound.riotgames.com with @rebell.bsky.social and @ridiculous.chat the VIP event for NYCC. Loved the 1v1 environment but LOVED LOVED the multiplayer. More to come but you should definitely give Riftbound a try even if you’re not a league player.

The scry 2 was definitively a winning factor in my choice to build him. The built in card advantage is so nice.

What really supports it though is the tokens having vigilance. I underestimated that I’m getting to scry basically every turn while still keeping my defenses up.
