this is Niloufar Ghalevand, a professional athlete who coached pilates and yoga. She did not wear the veil. She was not killed by the IRGC or the Iranian police. She was killed in Israeli bombing on June 14th.

Was she "liberated" from the sexist Iranian government by that Israeli-American missile?

liberal moralists will always say "You can't praise Hamas, they're terrorists," moralists will say "You can't praise the IRGC, they're islamic," moralists will say "You can't praise the Black Panthers, they're sexist" because the status quo that created these movements is always inherently "moral"

moralists seek peace as dictated by the oppressor; I ask you, if not for Israel, would Hamas exist? If not for western imperialism, would the IRGC exist? if not for jim crow, would the BPP exist? YOUR peace created THEIR war. So shut the fuck up and let them fight, THEN you can critique their means
Been working too much to get out to southern China, but I intend to go there in August
Not a bad few days around northern China

George W. Bush was the worst President of the last few generations and it's really not close. what we in the US are (rightly!) up in arms about is that Trump is the worst President for us, specifically - which is a different thing
(Me, a genius) I see no through line with how George W Bush, who legalized torture through illegal means and illegally invaded a country and killed millions of people, is connected to the current moment

Weird how the lonely alienated men never turn to community or labor organizing. Che. Black Panthers. Etc as good role models or showing them how to combat capitalist alienation. Showing them how to have a real positive pro social impact they can see with their eyes. Weird how no one mentions this
They’re super nice. Every day a new story to tell. And the old folks here seem to love me for reasons I don’t even think they can describe.

imagining time traveling to the early 00s and trying to explain to my precocious teen debater friends that the criticisms of the Nanny State that they engaged with so earnestly would culminate in armed officers making sure grown adults were using the right bathroom
One of the reasons Ukrainian flags in bio is so disgusting to me, personally.

The very Nazis who locked people inside of a burning building are the same ones spending your tax dollars on javelin missiles
Next time mind your business
Let’s not escalate this any further. I’m trying to be a better person.
I love how every liberal becomes the most useless civic scholar ever to throw away hard-earned tuition on a non-functioning limbic system the moment you criticize their Zionist-owned hand puppets in DC
On the other hand, “Why didn’t you lift a finger to help end the genocide in Gaza” probably wouldn’t go so well
The moment I sat down to take this one, a middle-aged lady rolled up and photo-sniped me. Took off before I could ask her for her Weixin number so she could share it with me

"...for protests to succeed, they must be backed by movements with the ability to promise to withhold—labor, debt payments, rent payments, or consumer support—and to follow through if demands aren’t met."

Glad to have gotten the opportunity to push this line in Time

Why Protests Should Be Promises
Modern movements that aim to advance racial equity should withhold and promise, rather than perform, writes Olúfẹ́mi Táíwò
