England seemed to him to be nothing but horrors and misery now. The very shapes of the trees were like frozen screams.

Everything is awful and we all feel pretty helpless, but here are some songs to hide within during the autumn of 2025.

I had my flu jab yesterday. Got drunk last night. Feel like death this evening. My own fault.

There is a perfectly adequate reissue available for about £20.

#NowPlaying One of the best albums of the 1970s in my humble opinion. I've only just noticed that the label on the record just says America Today, is that the actual title?
Curtis Mayfield - There's No Place Like America Today (US first pressing on Curtom Records 1975).

I agree with this list. Strawberry Fields is also fascinating.

Either way, that's definitely late Beatles.

I bought the mono CD boxset recently and it's mind blowing.

Magical Mystery Tour in mono is indeed magical.

My whole childhood was a lie. I am listening to Magical Mystery Tour in mono and it sounds divine. I have spent 30 odd years listening to a diluted stereo mix of both.

Help me out here. Strawberry Fields Forever/Penny Lane was a mono 45, right?

I just wish that it had been the day before he was due to be released in 2050 or whatever.

She often wore masculine clothing but always gave off a beautiful feminine glow.

I know that @dieworkwear.bsky.social specialises in menswear, but I would love to read his thoughts on Diane Keaton's unique sense of style.
Diane Keaton looking breathtakingly cool, 1978ish?

It's definitely the heaviest album I have received this year in terms of Postman's blues.

It is ridiculously good. Buy it.

Screamadelica is an appalling waste of everybody's time. It's as wet as a sponge at the bottom of a lake. Ecstasy has a lot to answer for.

That's mental. I once spent an evening with a bloke called Dave who was the drummer in Discharge. The sweetest guy you could hope to meet.

Don't tell anyone, but we just got a 400g tub of Lurpak at Sainsbury's for £2.42! It wasn't going out of date or anything, just a Nectar card offer.

Looking forward to it. Just got to unpack the big shop, etc...

She just made the screen glow every time she was in shot.

@wewantsounds.bsky.social have done a stunning job on this Bridget Fontaine reissue. The packaging is simply beautiful. As for the music, I'll report back soon as I've been at work all day. I have never heard this album before, so this is very exciting.
Brigitte Fontaine - Est...Folle (We Want Sounds 2025 reissue, originally released in 1968).
