sometimes i do truly think that artists/directors miss these "subtler" themes because all people do is focus on the main story when they're purely looking at past works nostalgically as opposed to analytically

It's so sneaky/sinister that Disney turned the ice cream guy into a native Hawaiian man. Lilo taking pictures of white mainland tourists is a kind of coping mechanism for being treated like an attraction/novelty, it's a vital part of her character. Disney clearly wants to defang the original film.

Honestly, good posing, good composition and you got yourself a great film.

Add some inbetweens if you want and maybe you don't even clean up the inbetweens allll the way. I think it works
