They sent this man death threats by mail because he was on the cusp of breaking a white man's home run record. He used their hate mail for inspiration to go on and break that record.

It was Hank Aaron's big "f**k you" to all of those racists.🖕🏾😝

I'm 6'0".

I'm not against people reclining for some of a long flight. It's more when a whole row reclines at the earliest opportunity and stays that way.

Sometimes they rise for food service and then recline while the person sat behind is still eating.

Some passengers recline their seat at the earliest opportunity and refuse to return to upright even when food is served.

I'm so not that person. On a 12 hour flight I kept my seat upright for 4 hours. Then I realised the person sat behind me was a 3 year old.

Seat kept upright. It's a principle.

Use flood plains for recreation or farming.

Then when the river floods there's no massive loss of life, livelihoods, or property.

It's easier to recover a football pitch than a housing estate.

Around Nottingham we have parks, football pitches, cricket pitches, et al, on the banks of the Trent and Erewash.

Last year a flood destroyed my parkrun course for a year, but that's easier to repair than homes, shops, factories, cafés, etc.

Losing a park for a while is bad but not apocalyptic.

As the article said, hard engineering solutions need supplementing with natural solutions such as flood plains.

As floods get higher, engineering ever higher flood walls becomes unsustainable.
