Ol' Willy did himself no favors, overpromising and underdelivering from 1939 through 1942; the Me 210 debacle and problems with the initial Bf 109 Fs got him replaced as chairman but he still held majority control. The Nazis DID nationalize Junkers in 1935, though.

Picked up five National Geographics from between 1914 and 1918 yesterday. The July 1918 edition has a feature on New York, and a pic of a protest speech.

This fucking sign is as true today as it was 107 years ago, and that is frankly disgusting.

We've done this for decades - we're setting up a training facility for foreign servicemembers who will be operating equipment we built and sold them. We've had a Luftwaffe presence at Holloman AFB in NM for decades, for instance.

Hi, WWII living historian here :)

They DID make equipment in larger sizes, but those were the ones kept and used daily by folks after the war- which is why they're hard to find nowadays. I've seen original Ikes up to size 48; 42s and 44s are still out there if you're patient.

You can find used original MA-1s on Ebay all day long for 1/8 that price.

Although I will say Buzz Rickson makes a VERY high quality product.

Jamelle, you might take a look at the offerings from At The Front - they don't have an AL-1 but an M41 tanker jacket or N-1 deck jacket is always a good look and very comfy as well. I've got their B-10 flight jacket and absolutely love it.

I have not, and am not sure I particularly want to, given that he was possibly the most prolific abuser of forced labor in the entire German aviation industry- and that's saying something. Oranienburg, Rostock-Marienehe, Vienna-Schwechat, Mielec, the "Languste" salt mine- it just goes on and on.
