Picked up five National Geographics from between 1914 and 1918 yesterday. The July 1918 edition has a feature on New York, and a pic of a protest speech.

This fucking sign is as true today as it was 107 years ago, and that is frankly disgusting.

Someone should show this to Abigail Spanberger - this is what strong leadership on LGBTQIA+ issues looks like.

Doing the right thing does not mean doing the easy thing... but it needs to be done.

Hegseth doesn't know his ass from a hole in the ground.

We've done this for decades - we're setting up a training facility for foreign servicemembers who will be operating equipment we built and sold them. We've had a Luftwaffe presence at Holloman AFB in NM for decades, for instance.

don't you DARE besmirch the absolute wonder of this adorable bat by equating it with that stunted cave troll! 🤣

All the posts I've seen about how Cam runs like a cat hearing a vacuum have been cracking me up but this one? I remember The Hogs from back in high school, and Riggins was absolutely UNTOUCHABLE.

It's early yet, but Skattebo sure looks like the return of Riggins. Great observation.

I mean, he didn't have to sell it that hard, but still... pulling the plug on the clanker theftbots is ok by me!

And that B-9 parka will make you *SWEAT* when it's 20 degrees F outside... that thing is no joke!

That's in fabulous condition, by the way- the collar is immaculate!

Hi, WWII living historian here :)

They DID make equipment in larger sizes, but those were the ones kept and used daily by folks after the war- which is why they're hard to find nowadays. I've seen original Ikes up to size 48; 42s and 44s are still out there if you're patient.

You can find used original MA-1s on Ebay all day long for 1/8 that price.

Although I will say Buzz Rickson makes a VERY high quality product.

Jamelle, you might take a look at the offerings from At The Front - they don't have an AL-1 but an M41 tanker jacket or N-1 deck jacket is always a good look and very comfy as well. I've got their B-10 flight jacket and absolutely love it.

Damn, when did they get hills like that in Queens? 😅

I have not, and am not sure I particularly want to, given that he was possibly the most prolific abuser of forced labor in the entire German aviation industry- and that's saying something. Oranienburg, Rostock-Marienehe, Vienna-Schwechat, Mielec, the "Languste" salt mine- it just goes on and on.

The Reichenberg IV (a manned V1) might be a better example to use here. That was a bad idea right from the start.

had the canopy of the M23 not come loose and whacked Siebert on that first flight, the a/c would've done exactly what it was supposed to do. And third, Bachem went on to design the very successful Eriba line of campers post-war, so he clearly had design talent.
one0nine.bsky.social
now hang on- I have to give Erich Bachem a little credit here. First, I've found no evidence he used slave labor - a low bar, to be sure, but an important one. Second, the Natter as a CONCEPT wasn't necessarily bad...

Get used to hearing the word "whore" a whole lot, Bill, because that's what you are now. I'm sure you'll cry yourself to sleep on that huge pillow stuffed with cash over it, but there are a lot of folks who thought you were better than that.

Guess not.
