I think it's more like "standing orders." Venue security are apparently told to remove any signs that are political in nature. I don't think it was specifically targeted other than falling into what venue security were told is the venue's policy.

It's my understanding that it comes from the venue owners themselves for any events taking place in the venue. I was not previously aware but that's how it's been explained to me now.

Yeah, I think it's a bad look for any venue to have that policy. I'd understand if it was calls for violence or something they really can't be associated with, but this was tame. It shouldn't have been taken away.

I get the sentiment but also there's no person/org/institution that can make itself small enough or bend the knee enough to stop this from happening. It's more a matter of "Who will be left to stand with you or will they all have been picked off one-by-one by the time they get to you?"
