If I understand correctly, Negative One does not have an AEW contract... but he does have a contract to fight Jon Moxley in a deathmatch if he wants (he doesn't).

the last thing i’ll say about the hanger title discourse is i don’t think people are upset that he wasn’t champion for 3 years or mad because he should never lose. they just wanted a story while he was champion before the loss that was as compelling as the ones told when he’s chasing the title.

I realize this is just me still spiraling but if you're going to hit me with a disappointment like Hanger losing, you don't follow it up by Swerve returning with a new theme song.
You give me the classic theme b/c I'm super sad and need familiarity.

The crazy thing is I love Samoa Joe. He's objectively a great wrestler. He's fantastic on the mic. He's well respected by his peers.
But holy fuck if you're going to have Hanger lose to Joe, make the story juicy. Joe I and Joe II felt like filler feuds.
