alma-chan wa kazoku ni naritai
alma-chan wants to have a family

perfectly serviceable comedy set up, pulled down by being barely animated. Not the first time an anime hasn't worked for me because the comedy is too 'talky', but comedy is the most ymmv genre.
The poster is nearly entirely white. The bottom half of the poster is the top half of a girl's face. She has blue eyes, white hair, and a black and blue cylindrical device sticking out of either side of her head. At the top is the name of the anime in Japanese. Part of the kanji for family has been stylized to look like 3 figures inside a house.

proof that a set up can be both deeply stupid as well as fun and engaging. definitely a fun first episode. I don't mind basic animation if I'm entertained.
In the foreground there's an expressionless pink haired woman in a full traditional maid uniform; that said she seems about to kick. Behind her is a cocky looking blondn man sitting at a garden table holding a book.
There's a flower bush behind him and the same flowers are decoratively used around the poster. In the background there's a black haired business man in a suit, fixing his tie, a black haired man whose hair is messier, in a blue button up shirt, sleeves rolled up, black tie and suspenders, and a mole under his lip. There's what seems to be the same maid but as a robot, possibly mid-run with a drill hand.

SI-VIS: the sound of heroes

oh dear. this is my kind of stupid. Just operating at 100% the whole time, with fun character designs and good animation for the fighting (and the dancing)
I'm stunned.
A bunch of cool anime characters standing around on a roof? or something. It has an industrial vibe with some drinks on a huge cannister on a wood palet. There;s a stage, amps and instruments behind them. They're arranged around a large puddle, showing their reflections.

The central figure stands confidently, hands in pockets, annd his reflection in stage outfit has arms open. On his left is a girl with purple hair in twintails and an adorable cat backpack. She's hunched over giving a peace sigvn. She is standing tall in her stage outfit reflection, arms crossed. Beside her there's a guy with bicoloured black/whnite hair and an eccentric suit, adjusting his glasses. In his reflection, he's leaning forward with his leg up, a much more boisterous/rough pose.
on the right side there's a girl sitting on a couch that I would n ot personally wanna sit on. She looks very casual and comfortable, leaning on her arm on the arm rest, legs crossed. Her reflection has really amplified a cocky energy. Then there's an individual who gives NB energy. They have a blond bob but two long strands of green, a big comfy knit sweater with a huge neckline, but a black turtleneck underneath so it's not revealing, and black skinny jeans. They look demure but their reflection looks confident, almost ready for a fight.

digimon beatbreak

Expected it be more childish going in, pleasantly surprised it wasn't. Gotta grow up with your audience, yknow? That said, this episode was just well executed set up so we'll have to see where it goes.
A very purple tinged poster sees a group of people and digimon sitting on a heap of rubble in front of a dilapitated building and a purple sky, with just a hint of yellow sunrise on the horizon. There's a flag on a pole from the building reading 'Golden Dawn'. From left to right, we have a girl in sporty clothes and short red hair with a red panda themed digimon on her head, boy in casual clothes. He has glasses, mostly purple hair with a lock of orange as his bangs. He has a lizard themed digimon on his shoulder. A girl? in preppy clothes hugging a bat themed digimon. A tall man in a pseudo uniform looking outfit with shoulder length dark hair. There's a wolf man looking digimon holding a large blade behind him. It reads 'Digimon Beatbreak' at the bottom.

my friend's little sister has it in for me
(aka Imouza )

trash anime that seems to think 'quick talking' is funny, but it's just exhausting.
There are SO MANY better anime you can watch to see tits, honestly.
The main focus of the poster is an anime high school girl with orangeish brown hair. She has headphones on around her neck and a wicked grin. She's on the right side of the poster, on the left there are 4 coloured computer windows, each one displaying a different character. Top left is a blue box with a shy looking white-haired girl hugging her legs. Beside her in a green box is an incredibly bored looking dark haired guy (our charismastic main character everyone!). Below them is a yellow box with a happy waving boy with a hair colour similar to the main girl's, presumably her brother. Below him is a young woman with long greyish white hair in a ponytail. She's winking and holding up what might be a beer can.

toujima tanzaburou wa kamen rider ni naritai
tojima tanzaburo wants to be Kamen Rider

If you like tokusatsu, cringe comedy and don't mind highly objectified women, this seems great.
That does not describe me though so I'll leave y'all to it.
A group of adults in kamen rider character cosplay of various quality pose in the center. Behind them is the inside of a kamen rider mask. We can see out the red tinted eyes of the mask. In the right eye we see a bunch of 'shocker' grunts in uniform posing. In the left eye we see a gangster in a white suit lighting a cigarette, a woman with twintails whno seemd to be wearing just underwear, and a strong guy in a suit facing away from us.

american action movies can never be as good as anime so long as they keep refusing to give us villains who erotically lick blood off their knives tbh

shuumatsu touring
touring after the apocalypse

I was not sold at first, but the second half of the ep pulled me back in. I have good questions and confidence that answers are coming. The fact that they do seem to be trying to make it a tourism anime despite the apocalypse is very funny to me.
Two young girls, a brunette and a younger looking girl with white hair cheer while riding a motorcycle. Behind them is a collage of photos of the two girls on top of a map.

another 'kicked out of my party because people don't respect support magic' story. better than average animation and nothing else goin' for it.
A generic anime fantasy guy in a white robe, short redhead girl in an oversized black robe with thick red trim, long white haired girl in white, and cocky blond guy in b lack walk togehrr energetically to the side.

can we get a new reason for being banished from adventuring parties other than 'idiots don't understand support magic' like we gave truck-kun a break and got other terrible isekai causes. i just want something new as i watch the same plot for the 30th time

kao ni denai kashiwada-san to kao ni deru oota-kun
Inexpressive Kashiwada and expressive oota

It's not great when your one joke feels old before the OP, especially if the only support is ho-hum animation. Feels like manga would be better since you control the pacing more.
We're in a middle school classroom. There are a few empty desks between us and a pink haired girl sitting at her desk by the window. There are several characters clustered around her. In the foreground there's a girl with long black hair rushing over to the group.

At least the title saved me the need to write a plot description.

Entirely too many characters. Appears to be entirely women surrounding one bland-looking guy, as is trash isekai/ICBINI tradition. The background is just black with falling glowing rectangles (maybe, MAYBE meant to represent gacha cards if I'm being generous).
There's a woman in golden armor, a maid showing a bunch of cleavage, a knight, a catgirl (but the ears and paws seem to be from her outfit) and a mage. Only the maid's outfit is egregious. Bland guy has a stave instead of a sword though so I guess that's different.

shabake

A well done set-up episode, but it's nearly entirely set up. I am a sucker for anime where Ayakashi are a normal, integrated part of society; less of a fan of the traditional samurai hairstyle though...
Two men in traditional clothes and samurai hair styles have opened the sliding doors and are gesturing welcomingly to us. Behind them is a young man sitting in seiza (traditional Japanese sitting posture). There's a foppish man lying on the ground beside him wielding a fan, some little critters on the floor, and a couple more characteers in the background. Two of them, a woman and a... firey winged dog thing, are flying or floating.

nohara hiroshi: hiru meshi no ryuugi
style of hiroshi nohara lunch

For all the people who've been wanting more of Crayon Shin-chan's dad?
technically animated 'jokes' about a working dad eating lunch.

I only made it through the first set up.
A business guy in a tan suit holds the jacket slung over his shoulder. His long green tie is blowing in the wind. He has stubble. He's standing in a restaurant alley with a bunch of restaurants on the left side of the poster, the closest of which being a ramen restaurant. There's some japanese text in the centre top, and the title of the anime at the bottom.

sanda

science saru makes the kind of fever dream anime that in my youth I had assumed all anime was. Am I in this for the long haul? IDK, but I highly recommend the experience of walking in blind to episode 1. holy shoot.
In the centre of the poster is a gruff man with a white beard/mustaches, wearing a red jacket, mid punch. He seems to have broken a glass window of some kind as glass and glass shards are exploding out around the poster from his first. In front, there's a cute blond boy with a determined looking, a guy with slick black hair waving, and a very tall girl with darkly rimmed eyes and... she is very casually wielding a knife. glass shards in the upper half of the poster reflect faces of yet more chracters and barely visible in the background is a very tall school building with a japanese flag.

saigo ni hitotsu dake onegai shite mo yoroshii deshou ka
may i ask for one final thing

That episode of anime was a blast.
my main question after the first episode is:
that was a complete story so what the fuck are we doing with the rest of the season?
In the foreground is a noble lady ina beautiful, full red dress with long silver hair. She has black spiked fingerless gloves on and is about to throw a punch. Behind her are a selection of young noblemen. Behind all of them another, particularly punchable looking nobleman with an arm around a very pink girl: pink hair, big pink dress. The background is a fantasy city in front of mountains and a blue cloudy sky.

potion, wagami wo tasukeru

A deeply basic anime; the motion manga style animation, simple plot explained in slow exacting detail, a simple, childish art design. I had an OK time watching it, I could watch more, but it doesn't feel like it's bringing much to the table.
A young girl with a brown bob smiles at the camera. She has a childish blue dress with white pan collar and cuffs (maybe white pants/leggings under too?). She has an over the shoulder bag that looks stuffed, and has cat (or maybe fox?) ears. Behind her, just barely visible is a fox girl. Flying all around her are potion bottles that are nearly cube shaped. Most are green, but a couple are blue. The green colour matches the colour of the fairy flying in the upper left corner. Her dress is cute and poofy, as are her ankle boots. Her hair ends in spirals, including a single long spiral bang.
