It’s currently 46F and raining, so I’m glad the party was yesterday! I’ll write up a Sunday Post about it for next week, just in case folks like to see party work behind the scenes. But since a few of you wanted to NOW about how it went, here are a few photos of the setup before neighbors arrived.

A ‘make your own taco’ bar — with a line of slow cookers on long tables, holding tortillas, pulled chicken, pulled smoked pork, roasted pork belly, spicy black beans (vegan) and milder pinto beans (vegan). At the far end is a table of taco condiments such as slaw, queso fresco, lime wedges, green and red salsa, chopped cilantro, sliced green onions, jalapeño rings, grated cheese, and squeeze bottles of Mexican créma.

A table full of easy snacks in the background — popcorn, potato chips (‘Ruffles have ridges’) Pirate cheese puffs, and Lindt chocolates. In the foreground is a basket of three types of drop cookies, and a platter of bar cookies.

A tree-well filled with ice, local (and Mexican) beer, hard cider, seltzers (both and soft), sodas, non-alcohol beer — a cooler full of bottled water and sparkling water to the side.
