Golden silence beneath a cooling sky—luxury in stillness.
Fujifilm X-T5 + 9mm f/2.0 | 1/240 sec | f/2.5 | ISO 400

A wide-angle landscape photograph of a golden field in Lincolnshire at dusk. The soft, evening light casts gentle shadows across the grass, with a gradient sky transitioning from warm yellow to pale blue. The scene is still, open, and quietly expansive.

Endless skies and quiet roads — a moment of stillness in the Fens. Taken on a Fuji X-T5 with a 90mm f/2.0 lens | 1/250 sec | f/5.6 | ISO 400.

A black and white photo of a straight, empty country road flanked by fields of wildflowers and utility poles, stretching into the distance under a wide, cloudy sky in the Fens near Thorney. A large tree and distant wind turbines add subtle depth to the horizon.

Running won’t fix everything. But it’ll fix something.

It won’t replace therapy.

It won’t cure depression.

But when your thoughts are racing, your chest is tight, and you feel like the world’s closing in?

Running gives you space. Clarity. A rhythm. A reason to breathe again.

Stone and silence at Somerton Deep Lock—descending through time on still water. The canal holds its breath.

A narrowboat enters Somerton Deep Lock on the Oxford Canal under a brooding sky. A solitary figure stands at the lock edge, framed by aged brickwork and weathered beams. The boat’s bow breaks the still water, capturing a quiet moment of descent into history.

A peaceful canal towpath framed by the underside of a stone bridge. The path is grassy and winds alongside the calm water, which reflects the overcast sky. Trees and hedgerows line the right side, with a wooden fence following the path. In the distance, another arched bridge crosses the canal amid rolling green fields.

I've posted this one before, but it's one of my favorites and it's perfect for today's #Earth theme of #BlueSkyArtShow!

Typical #dukeofexpedition sitting waiting for a group to appear hearing them before you can see them. Now a run of expeditions 8 in total bronze, silver and gold.

A group of Duke of Edinburgh expedition participants walks along a narrow path beside a newly planted hedgerow and rustic fence. A single large tree stands proudly by the path, while expansive green fields stretch out under a soft blue sky. In the distance, a forest frames the horizon, evoking a peaceful and timeless countryside scene.

Just out with young people doing their Duke of Edinburgh will take a look when home

Sadly few of the crews helped each other, it felt like I opened and closed the gates for most of the boats.

A group of teenagers stands in a circle on a grassy field, listening to an adult leader during a Duke of Edinburgh’s Award expedition briefing. Bright green tents and rucksacks are scattered around them, with a large tree casting light shade under an overcast spring sky.

Kings Sutton church rising through the spring haze—caught from the roof of NB Hawksmoor on our narrowboat holiday. A moment of stillness in light and spire.

A dark church spire rises like a needle against a brooding spring sky, half-shrouded by golden trees and drifting reeds. The village lies quiet beneath it, still and secretive. Shot from a narrowboat holiday towpath, the scene feels both ancient and fleeting, like a memory in the mist.

Still cruising the cut. Stayed last night north of lower heyford and now on the way to Thrupp. We guess there were floods in the winter
A narrowboat named ‘Tree Spirit Cottage – Hogarth’ sits out of the water on the canal towpath, with its hull resting on concrete supports. The boat has a weathered black and red exterior and is surrounded by overgrown greenery. Its reflection is faintly visible in the canal beside it.

First full (ish) day cruising the cut. Banbury was very busy. Stopped just passed Twyford wharf now having frittata for dinner. #narrowboat #canal #cruisingthecut
A slender green narrowboat rests quietly in a moss-lined lock, embraced by ancient brick and timeworn water. Petals drift like memories on the surface, as an old, peeling building leans into the hush of spring. Ahead, the lock gates wait, holding back the onward journey, while trees whisper stories over hedgerows and passersby wander under a soft sky.

Back cruising on the cut on NB Hawksmoor. After weeks of warm sun the wind and rain have arrived so a short cruise from marina. Time for life to slow down to 3 miles an hour.

Started doing a 52 week photo challenge - this weeks challenge is over or underexposed - here’s my attempt this week.
A solitary bloom emerges from shadow, its delicate petals whispering silver against the void—like moonlight gathering in silence, untouched and eternal.
