Lately when I import a record, Ancestry pushes my subject's existing primary name down and makes the newly imported name primary. It's maddening. I called customer service, but the rep didn't understand my issue. He was such an automaton that I asked if he was a human. #ancestrytips #genealogy

I had a pleasant chat with a woman in line yesterday. I was wearing an environment-themed T-shirt, but I didn't get into politics. She brought up "those anti fascists" just before it was her turn in the queue. She went away thinking we were like-minded. I was on vacay and didn't feel like a fight.

Aberdeen Township, New Jersey is finalizing its beach sustainability project. When complete, the beach will be restored to its 1970s profile and be augmented with infrastructure to deal with sand and dune erosion. Yorktown Beach, Virginia (pictured) is an exemplar of what to expect.
