The First Responders Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder Protection Act (A2145) is now law. This legislation provides job protections for paid first responders diagnosed with work-related PTSD, ensuring they can take leave to get help and return to their position when they’re cleared and ready.

Legislation that would extend job-protected family leave to more workers passed the Assembly. A3451 would expand access to the State’s Family Leave Act, ensuring more workers would have the security of knowing their jobs are safe when they need to take time from work to care for a family member.

A6166, advanced by the Assembly today, updates New Jersey law to ensure that insurance plans cover vaccines recommended by the State Department of Health, including routine childhood immunizations without cost sharing, and allows the DOH to make science-based recommendations on vaccines.
