Listening to a podcast describe a specific thing that I've been specifically involved in is quite a ride.

Interesting podcast featuring @alicefraser.bsky.social describing her experience publishing with Unbound/Boundless. Worth a listen if you want to get a rough idea of largely how the first eight months of this year felt to me.

Booked. Amazing to see a situation where ADHD isn't costing me extra money.

Yeah, that's how it went today.

Q: Are you eligible under phase 1?
A: Yes.

Nothing else.
paulisci.bsky.social
They asked me to confirm I was eligible, but without even being specific about how.

Just got vaccinated today -- Albertans, do remember to double check phase 1 eligibility, it's a lot broader (and freer) than many people seem to think.

Yes, bring back manliness like the 1790s
- wigs
- tights
- frills
- powder
- filler
- rouge
- hips out
- legs crossed
George Washington dancing, in tights and heels, powdered wig, frilly lace sleeves. Return of George Washington painting with washington's coat flicked back, hand on his hip like a manly man. All powdered up. Bunch of men sitting in front with their legs crossed

Passage from The Iliad (c. 750 B.C.)
Aeneas, grasping his shield and long spear, leapt down after him, fearful the Achaeans might rob him of the corpse. He bestrode it like a lion confident in his strength, covering himself with his round shield, ready to slay with his spear any man who would seize the corpse, raising his mighty war-cry. But Diomedes hefted a rock, heavier than any two men of our time might carry, lifting it easily on his own. With it he struck Aeneas on the hip where the thigh turns in the hip-joint, the cup-bone men call it. It crushed the bone, sheared the sinews, and jaggedly ripped the skin away. Aeneas fell to his knees, and pressed the ground with one great hand, while darkness shrouded his sight.
