Is there another industry where someone will give you generational wealth to just not be there?

Paying him to stay away. Worth it.

‼️PSA: CLEAN OUT YOUR GUTTERS/DRAINS THIS WEEKEND‼️

The Bay Area's first big storm of the season is approaching...and it's been a while, so make sure to clean out your gutters/drains this weekend while it's quiet! And secure all Halloween decorations so they don't blow away! @kpixtv.bsky.social

Social media always goes a little crazy with our first chance of rain each season. I took some time last night to address some misinformation…. #CAwx

This is the correct phrasing. Next week's storm is part of a pattern developing as a RESPONSE to the influence of a typhoon.

The West Coast is *NOT* getting "the remnants of a typhoon"

Next week is looking quite active in CA as a high-amplitude flow pattern develops over North Pacific in downstream response to perturbation of jet stream by West Pacific #TyphoonHalong. NorCal looks quite wet & stormy (rain & iso. tstms/mtn snow); SoCal impacts TBD. #CAwx #CAfire
Snapshot from ECMWF ensemble of an unseasonably deep low pressure system centered just west of San Francisco by early next week. It will likely bring widespread rain, isolated thunderstorms, some mountain snowfall, and possibly some gusty winds though exact path and impacts remain TBD.

It's just one run of one forecast model, so take it with a whole pillar of salt...but that would be a healthy amount of rain for the Bay Area next week! Even half this much would pretty much put an end to the fire season in this part of the state. #CAwx

🚨ADOPTABLE DOG ALERT🚨

Slight chance of showers in the North Bay on Friday, but that won't bother "Lotti" in Dublin. Temperatures will be cool enough for plenty of outdoor time as well! This pretty girl is available from the East County Animal Shelter:

Three rain chances in the forecast:
1) Tonight & Thursday morning. Not much more than a trace.
2) Friday & Friday night. Mostly North Bay, not much even there.
3) Early next week. Widespread rain looks likely, but lots of uncertainty still! Could be a low-end atmospheric river. #CAwx

LOL, just saw that we posted very similar content at the same time. Great minds...

On Monday, our forecast for next week showed partly cloudy skies. 24 hours later, that had changed to a 70+% chance of rain!

What changed? I got a little nerdy in our 11pm newscast last night to explain how everything in the atmosphere is connected... #CAwx

The fog is back, and cooler temperatures will return to the Bay Area as well!

🚨ADOPTABLE DOG ALERT🚨

Cooler and breezy on Wednesday, but that's just fine with "Freckles". Dense morning fog will give way to afternoon sunshine, and it will definitely feel more like autumn! Details on this handsome boy here:

Tropical Storm Jerry forms over the central Atlantic and becomes the tenth named storm of the season.

Pretty post-sunset sky, without even a hint of fog on the horizon

🚨ADOPTABLE DOG ALERT🚨

One look at that face makes me think "Bender" won't have to wait too long to find a fur-ever family. He gets to enjoy fantastic early-fall weather on Saturday as well — lots of sunshine, with near-normal temperatures! Details here:

Pretty clouds. #analysis

Yesterday marked the end of the 2024-25 "water year." Final stats range from above-average in the North Bay, to near-average in San Francisco, to well below-average in rain-shadowed parts of the East Bay and South Bay.

That book is riddled with inaccuracies (Little Boy weighed 900 pounds?), misspellings, and grammatical errors.

@paulkpix.bsky.social looks like traffic pattern has flipped, with only one meteorologist at the Oakland CWSU this might be more of a problem heading into offshore wind season as the replacement meteorologists are not working in-person at the Fremont FAA office

According to the PIO, “The ground stop was only for short-haul flights along the West Coast, but has since lifted with the implementation of a ground delay program.”

no explanation as to why weather was the listed cause.

Ground stop at SFO due to “Weather / Wind” — but it’s not windy (especially by SFO standards). Does a shift to an easterly wind bring everything to a halt? Doesn’t make sense…
