If you're in the area (Arrowtown / Queenstown) you should come & see our @winterstellar.bsky.social exhibition, it's out best ever & we are very proud of it. I have 3 pieces in the exhibition & every image is beautifully printed.

(you can buy them too rangitako.com/shop/p/speed...)

I think this is Annie Peak in the Franz Josef valley - densely covered rainforest mountainside with dark brooding clouds above. Lush bush & a couple of waterfalls

Isn't it fantastic - the stories & meaning behind each place name.

The whole site (not just the atlas) is a goldmine

The days long torrential rains mean that everywhere you looked in Kā Roimata-o-Hinehukatere Franz Joseph Glacier valley Kā Tiritiri-o-te-moana the Southern Alps was another waterfall.

Summer they're almost all gone.

Oh my days!

When you dial in the right exposure - shutter speed, freezing water droplets from about 1km away is insanely satisfying.

Zoomed into 300m, probably on DX mode (thus effective range of 450mm due to crop factor) a highly detailed section of the waterfall in which you can see individual drops of water frozen in time.

Yip I remember a Ice cave too from 1981

I've mentioned this before, but on the Nikon Z7ii even my old workhorse f-mount 28-300mm lens is absolutely brilliant.

Waterfall in the Kā Roimata-o-Hinehukatere Franz Joseph Glacier valley Kā Tiritiri-o-te-moana the Southern Alps.

This waterfall comes from a creek flowing from Alex Knob, 1303m (yes I've been dying to say this, lol) on the Fritz Range

scientifically it will be 35% less volume & retreated a long way up the valley by 2100 on current trends.

there have been 3 significant advances in the past 60 years, but out paced by retreats.

Aye, I first saw it even closer than that in the 1980s

LOL you go Stan, that's freaking awesome & I wish you all the best with it.

I'm ringing OneNZ for my mother-in-law (authorised to speak on her behalf) for the exact reasons of my frustration. She can't understand the call centre people with her age / hearing.

Turns out Wellingtonians came out in force on Saturday, single biggest day of voting. 48% participation which is the best result since at least 2016.

A wee while before that, but they were visible on the flats from the sea in his days.

Must have been an amazing sight to behold
