Trump: "Portland, I mean -- every time I look at that place it's burning down. There are fires all over the place. When a store -- there are very few of them left -- but when a store owner rebuilds a store they build it out of plywood. They don't put up storefronts anymore. They just put wood up."

If you are able to see what cities the local cops are from it would be really helpful to know if we should yell at our mayors

A woman who was shot multiple times by U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents did not ram them with her car and had her weapon stored in her purse at the time of the incident, according to her lawyer, contradicting accounts by the Department of Homeland Security.

Bridging my current life in Chicago and my past life in D.C., I argue today at @newrepublic.com that Democrats should ~never~ vote to fund this government. Make John Thune blow up Senate rules and Republicans wholly own the U.S. extra-military military doing war crimes against us, funded by us.
The Case for the Forever Shutdown
Senate Democrats actually allowing the GOP to stop funding the government is only the first step. Now they have to make the case that Trump’s government is illegitimate.

She adds that violations of ICE agents' rights can't be addressed if they won't identify themselves.

She concedes it can be "scary" to be followed home or harassed, but adds,

"That doesn't mean you get to do this job and be anonymous."

Kind of feels like feds occupying our city for a month, killing one person and shooting another while attacking neighborhoods with chemical weapons and kidnapping hundreds of people already counts as a civil war whether the Guard arrives or not, but what do we know?

A massive parade held for extremely few people because of fears of ICE, and a community group tried to draw awareness. The mayor directed his people to attempt to violently rip the banner and accost the person holding it. Shame on Mayor Dominick of Cicero

Community advocates in Cicero tried to join the annual Houbyfest parade today with a banner that read “ICE Out of Cicero: Silencio es complicidad. Solo el pueblo salva el pueblo.” They were intercepted and moved off the parade route by Cicero Police, one of whom was armed with an assault rifle.
Community advocates in high visibility vests March along an empty parade route with a banner reading “ICE out of Cicero“ Community advocates address the public on an empty parade route using a bullhorn. Protest signs igns read “Fuck ICE” and “Chinga la Migra. Fuera de Cicero.” Cicero event staff grabs a banner from community advocates on an empty parade route as a police SUV approaches with its illuminated. True police SUVs, two police 4x4 vehicles, and two police on foot – including one who is holding a long gun – approach community advocates along an empty parade route.

STATEMENT:
For Immediate Release
September 12, 2025
CTU Responds to ICE Shooting in Franklin Park CHICAGO-Chicago Teachers Union President Stacy Davis Gates issued the following response to the fatal shooting by federal immigration agents in Franklin Park today:
The fatal shooting by federal immigration agents in Franklin Park today represents exactly the kind of dangerous escalation we warned against when Trump called for the federal and military occupation of our communities. Today's impact leaves a family without their loved one and two school communities reeling from the shock and trauma of the violence that led to their schools being locked down. Students and their families don't need this chaos, it doesn't make them safer.
We offer our condolences to the family and community of Silverio Villegas-Gonzalez. Due process is constitutional and accusations of reckless driving should never end with a person's death. We remember Philando Castile, Daunte Wright, Tyre Nichols, Laquan McDonald, Dexter Reed and too many other lives lost during encounters with authorities that should have never turned fatal. De-escalation, and not deadly force, should be the priority. Again, we know what actually works to build safe, thriving communities: investment in education, healthcare, mental health and affordable housing.
When we fund the public good, we keep people safe.
Instead of pouring resources into raids and enforcement that terrorize our neighbors and neighborhoods and endanger everyone involved, government at all levels should be investing in the infrastructure and support systems that help communities prosper, not force them to live in fear.
We call for an immediate removal of all ICE agents from our communities, and instead demand that our tax dollars be used to provide more investments that actually make us safe.

Thank you so much for reporting on this. ICE killing anyone is unconscionable. The school has announced the man who was killed was picking his kid up when they stopped him.

Thank you so much for reporting on all this.

Something that hasn’t been commented on much is this chase happened on a road with an elementary and a middle school on it. It’s near a park. The schools were in lockdown. Why was ICE conducting stops and shooting that near a school.

I have a couple friends in my group who also said they’d be happy to help with the Spanish translation as well! Figured I’d throw that out there, although seems like you’re covered!

You’re the best! Thank you for working on this!!

This is such a great zine! I wanted to check just in case this had already been done by another group and you’d heard of it-has this been translated into any other languages like Spanish?
