If you're new to what I do, here's how it works…

It is interesting to see how procedural convention evolves over time. I swear, I can't even think of one reconsideration motion the whole time Fougere was mayor. Now, they're a fairly regular thing.

My favourite was how he used it to hold up every step of cannabis shop legalization. Dude did NOT want pot shops.

Hawkins could get pretty pissy sometimes when votes weren't going his way and use it to express how displeased he was.

I finally did a sit down interview for the show with the CFO where I got him to explain mill rates to me like I was 10. I still can't explain how the city sets them off the top of my head. #yqrcc

In the end I don't think their debate on the leisure fee report achieved anything beyond saying, "This other report you were planning to do, can you do it a little bit sooner?" HOURS to get there. #yqrcc

Oh… there was the leisure fees report. It was a big multi page affair that introduced a dozen little changes & tweaks but council spent hours wringing their hands over a single line item. #yqrcc

Holy crap. I'm thinking back over yesterday's 7 hour meeting & apart from the reserve report — the 2nd last item — I'm struggling to think of what was accomplished in all that time. Like what even did they talk about? I watched the whole thing… #yqrcc

I was thinking the same thing!
Nelson actually learned and got better over her term (believe it or not). And at least she'd just come out and say what she thought instead of this symphony of dog whistles that we're getting from Bezo.

Turnbull's line of Qs is basically just remedial How The City's Land Development Unit Works. And it's just… everybody should know this. I can't believe Turnbull has to hold Certain Councillors hands through all this. #yqrcc
