It cannot be overstated how enormously disruptive (and of course, consultation-free) was the unilateral change made by the province around how school sites were selected and funded.

Admin on servicing Rosewood school: That was before my time. We've been through files. There were discussion when joint use schools announced in 2014/15. We were selecting sites. Skywood was originally tagged for one. But there was a decision that it'd go into Rosewood. #yqrcc

Mayor: This plan moves us from a data driven plan for when we unlock each phase of development. Other municipalities are paying attention to this plan. It is seen as forward thinking. This plan gives us a competitive advantage. #yqrcc

There was to be a school in Skywood, the church made a play(?), the school was moved. It was the dumbest thing just in terms of fucking roads even.

Mayor: I want to thank admin. They've done the work asked for by the development community: an infrastructure based approach to phasing. This plan does this. We don't have money to develop everything at once. #yqrcc

Citymgr: Every developer wants something. You heard that every developer got something but they didn't get it all. I don't think getting more money will take us off our recommended plan. #yqrcc

Citymgr: this is the recommended plan put forward by admin. If council doesn't like that, council can send up back to the drawing board. I wouldn't recommend that. #yqrcc

Admin: When we get tripartite funding, we typically have to contribute 30%. We would make investment that supports existing community first, remove redundant infrastructure, & supports development. #yqrcc

Admin: We want to take areas off the trunk right now. There is a trunk upgrade on Rochdale. And we still need to service industrial land whether projects come on line or not. The servicing solution for Skywood is to go through the NW Lift Station. #yqrcc
