You’re really asking why somebody who covers baseball is watching a playoff game?

Jays and Mariners should wear 1977 throwbacks for Game 1 of the ALCS.

Tigers cool as can be turning that double play. What a fantastic game.

You mean bunting for hits? There were 153 bunt hits in the entire American League last season. The Sox had 5.

I do not see them changing their philosophy to starting bunting for hits. They were 3rd in the AL in runs last season and 3rd jn OBP. Their on-base is fine.

Sorry to hear about the passing of long-time radio reporter Craig Heist, a regular in the press boxes at Camden Yards and Nationals Park.

Craig sat near the visiting writers in Baltimore. Such a nice guy. Always seemed happy to be at the ballpark. Condolences to his family.

Fits Fenway Park well is not "the next Ted Williams." And if you really can't grasp he was hitting well until he got hurt not sure what to say.

Troll elsewhere. This is tired,

Counting on a free-swinger to suddenly become a contact hitter or a player who has had two major injuries to play all season and produce isn't a plan, it's wishing.

1. Nobody said that or remotely suggested it.
2. He had a .938 OPS before he hurt his leg, .724 after. It's dumb not to acknowledge that.

No wonder you're afraid to post under your actual name.

Difficult? Sign Schwarber. Expensive, sure. But the Red Sox can afford anybody they want. Way too many fans accept the idea they can’t spend like they used when they were winners.

First time a postseason series ended on a walkoff error. So not really.

This speaks to why the Red Sox need to add more thump to their lineup.

so far this postseason:

- Teams to score first are 15-12
- Teams to out-homer opponents are 15-3 (23-8 in ‘24 PS)
- 39.2% of runs have been scored via HR (was 41.1% in ’25 RS, 47.0% in '24 PS)

Going back to 2015 when Moncada first signed with the Red Sox, the whole situation was hinky. It was hard to get straight answers about anything. Turned out to be a lot of commotion for a guy who turned out to be just a little better than average.

You hit on it. He needs to stay on the field. He's going to hit. Whatever it is he needs to do this winter — go to a private facility, go to Fort Myers, etc. — he needs to do that and come back better equipped to stay on the field.

Greenwell finished second to Jose Canseco in the 1988 MVP voting.

He was a good all-around player. Contact hitter with a high OBP. He had power, could steal a base, didn't strike out much, etc.

Sad to hear about the passing of Mike Greenwell at only 62. He was diagnosed with medullary thyroid cancer a few months ago.

"The Gator" played for the Red Sox from 1985-96. He was a two-time All-Star who hit 130 homers and had a career .831 OPS. Left fielder who played some 3B and 2B.

Guess you weren’t watching.

This is the first time in Yankees history that they have won just one World Series in a quarter-century.

Seems funny to see Don Mattingly celebrating eliminating the Yankees.

Offer Schwarber whatever he wants. Holy cow.
