Once they signed Ranger Suarez and came to prioritize defense on the infield, he made less sense.

Bregman and Bichette remain the most obvious free-agent fits for the Red Sox. Both are really good…and have really unusual offensive profiles that could erode significantly in the latter years of a long-term deal. A closer look: www.bostonglobe.com/2026/01/08/s...
