The dream of every Muslim is simply to be treated the same as any other New Yorker.

And yet, for too long, we have been told to ask for less than that, and endure hatred and bigotry in the shadows.

No more.

My wife and I submitted at the drop box at the Registrar of Voters the same night we received our ballots and got the text confirming receipt a few days later. I think there’s a lag on the texts because checking the status on sdvote.com had it marked by the end of the next business day.
(Alt text: MTS bus 7602, a new electric 40-foot New Flyer Xcelsior, parked in downtown San Diego at the northern Route 929 terminal. It has overhead pantograph attachments for overhead charging at the depot.)
Brand new XE40 sighting on Free Ride Day 😎
On the backend management systems it’s listed as “301” but that’s a lot less marketable
Fun number fact: before the reorg of 2006 the airport bus was an extension of Route 2, then with network updates it was split and contracted out and became a 900 series route as was practice at the time. The only reason for the weird irrelevant number for a high profile route is a 20 year old change
Back when the airport bus was in my planning area and we were in talks to run the Old Town service I was pushing the marketing department hard to let me rename one “737” and the other “747.” I would have also considered “320” for the other bus of the skies but that’s an NCTD number block.
We just ripped a ten year old Sienna down some logging roads in BC and it was a champ. Undisputed best vehicle form factor for several people and/or things
Gotta make room for the 300s?

With the AJC dropping its print edition, I feel compelled to share one of the greatest moments in print design history
Thanks for the recommendation to walk home a different way tonight 😅
I too love to completely imagine a person’s life circumstances and then provide an unsolicited reply filled with righteous judgment over them

Great way to relate the impact of a car crash with something people can directly understand!

I got a flu booster today and it made me reflect on the sense of national accomplishment I felt when I drove to a public facility, waited in my car until my number was called on an app, and got my first covid jab. It's fucked the right gets to erase what a moment of technological liberation that was

Unappreciated benefit of places with weather: Eventually dog pee and sidewalk chalk get washed away within a span of less than Several Months
Thirteen years in San Diego next month and have to say I agree
Saw both 302 and 303 on Route 11 yesterday morning while out on a run and couldn’t get a picture. They’re 40’ CNG Xcelsiors. Still an interesting sight since they’re the first 40’ Xcelsiors in the standard paint scheme.
