"Trust me when I say, this time someone else will finally do something about this."

(Stop waiting for someone else.)

They weren't eating the dogs. They weren't eating the cats. Foreign countries don't pay US tariffs. Autism isn't caused by Tylenol. Portland is not a war zone.

But they lie and lie and lie and lie and fucking lie and no one calls them on it, no one stands up and says "hey this is fucking bullshit!"

Possibly a side effect of increased Canadian nationalism? I want to call it patriotism but it's probably nationalism.

The great thing about Thanksgiving to me is that it's completely made up, more so than other holidays. It's whatever you want it to be.

You are not as insightful or as clever as you think you are.

My naive wish is that even one Canadian journalist, one politician, one security analyst, would address the implications of Canada choosing military integration with an authoritarian power that no longer respects the rule of law or international law.
Looks like that’s not going to happen today.

Just saw the phrase "superficial intelligence" for the first time and in hindsight I can't believe it took this long.

Didn't they also claim in this meeting that antifa goes back to Weimar Germany?

Responding to a long, detailed thread with "I believe most of your concerns are..." doesn't raise confidence that you're engaging with the content of the long, detailed thread. Rather, it suggests you're dismissing the content of the thread in favour of a preconceived narrative.

All this is to say that there is a clear problem with how moderation decisions are made across this platform, a problem that reserves contextual sensitivity for some users but denies it to others. As long as this problem remains, we cannot trust moderation decisions on this platform to be fair.

And if you don't understand "respect" maybe you can at least understand "don't taunt the murder lizard"

She's definitely invested skill points in not getting distracted by bullshit.

Waiting for the journalist who just shouts "bullshit" at one of these events.

Ah, reasonable yes, but you see, your proposal would require leadership and imagination. The best the 🇨🇦 government can offer domestically is austerity and dunking on Poilievre in the House of Commons.

I've said it. And while I can't speak for Nora I don't think she's said what you're getting pissed about.

No one in this thread has said it's all Americans. No one in this thread has said "oh well Americans deserve this".

Someone is posting without centering your feelings and it's putting you in such high dudgeon that you're not listening to what people are actually saying.

Try listening instead of throwing yourself at the keyboard outrage-first.

the thing is that if jay et al want to be like "nooo we are simply children of the code, we're just gearhead engineers 😔" like...hire a comms team, then? hire somebody to talk to human beings who's capable of not sounding like a disdainful snot. what the fuck are we doing here
