My German grandmother, a war refugee, emigrated to Chicago. She learned how to speak English watching WGN.

When I visited we’d watch WGN every night. Never thought I’d see one of its producers brutalized & arrested by masked US govt thugs.

My mom & grandparents fled Germany bc of this same shit.

love Ursula, but maybe if she'd thought of it this way: woman are primitive & feral, not inferior. Our wisdom isn't irrational, maybe supernatural (to men). Men reinforce their own ideas of women. And the men to whom she refers are NOT grownups.

But I didn’t and still don’t like making a cult of women’s knowledge, preening ourselves on knowing things men don’t know, women’s deep irrational wisdom, women’s instinctive knowledge of Nature, and so on. All that all too often merely reinforces the masculinist idea of women as primitive and inferior – women’s knowledge as elementary, primitive, always down below at the dark roots, while men get to cultivate and own the flowers and crops that come up into the light. But why should women keep talking baby talk while men get to grow up? Why should women feel blindly while men get to think?

i think if Ursula had thought of it as "feral" rather than "inferior" it would have made more sense as to why men are terrified of women: it's our power

I just watched the video of the Portland Cop threatening to arrest an ICE agent if they drive their truck through a crowd. Now I see this where the General of the Oregon National Guard says if they get called up they will protect the protesters. People are fed up.
