Richard is an incredible designer and human being. Love him to death. He designed my books with Berger Books, which turned out beautifully.

He also wrote my favorite Adam Strange story of all time.

The writer of this RINGO NOM’D INDIE COMIC (and a very dear friend of mine) is a Syrian Refugee who has been through more continuous hardships than I have space to list here; constantly navigating visa applications, unstable living conditions, predatory landlords (limited options as a refugee).

Anas just wants to make comics and live a normal life like what so many of us take for granted. Backing this campaign will help Anas to take the next step toward freedom and autonomy, helping to fund a move to another country with more stable employment options. This is truly one of the most important comics purchases you will ever make.

Middle Eastern and North African comics creators are some of the most underrepresented in the comics industry of the western world. Anas isn’t running a GoFundMe to support this move, and is not asking for charity. Look, I appreciate this. TV needs more of this. Let’s have fun again. Seriously things are so bad in the industry and everywhere. Let’s all turn on stuff at night together and go “that was insane” and then surprise there are 20 more episodes and the characters don’t remember being in orbit.

On this day in 1945, bar owner William Sianis bought tix to the WS for himself and Murphy, his pet goat. Sianis became so upset when the Wrigley Field ushers asked his guest to leave, he placed a curse on the Cubs, claiming they’d never win a WS again. Here’s my painting of the ol’ place.
