It's just like the smaller Saab classic, but, you know, bigger.

The cruelty is the point. The only direction their ‘moral’ compass points.

Delta Air Lines Airbus A220-300 | Anchorage, AK | yesterday

Back in Seattle, where hopefully I’ll be at home and in bed by 2300L.

DL free wifi kicking some ass (22 up, 1.5 down), but doesn’t get along with BS photo uploads. You’ll just have to trust me that the departure was pretty scenic.

She makes a cameo!

Also this DL 100 safety video…yes please

It was a delightful weekend here in Alaska, and as always I look forward to the next visit. Till next time, AK!

Sadly the weather this morning was awful, but naturally it’s come around now that I’m at the terminal ready to head home.

Tonight’s flight, Delta 928 A223 service to Seattle.

This was what got me to go on the trip. As you know they’re really hard to come by in scheduled pax service, so when Aleutian started flying them on the comparatively affordable route to Kenai vs the $600+ one ways to Dutch Harbor, I knew I had to go.

Those C46s are among the oldest active commercial aircraft in the world. It’d be wild to put one of the P2012s next to it. Almost 80yrs would separate their introduction to service.

I plan to add it on eventually, tho I have done CDV. Gotta try again too for the complete southern set

Luckily I’m also in Seattle most of the time and we should take advantage of that :)

The restaurant has the TV playing the usual Bollywood content and the latest dance number is a one to one shot list of several top gun maverick scenes but if you also added a musical dance component and MiG and Super Pumas.

I didn’t take a photo I was too engrossed I’m sorry.

And I guess that’s it. Flights were very short. In the future I’d try to go longer, namely to Seward, which I’m told is considerably more scenic.

Finishing the day off with a warm bowl of chicken korma at a nearby Indian place. Yum.

And back in Anchorage, where the Aleutian gate agent who I chatted with a few hours ago remarked ‘oh you actually did it, I thought you were joking.’

It feels like a Saab 340 just…I can’t quite put my finger on why

On board Aleutian 1706, service to Anchorage. Yesterday this flight took 12 whole minutes.

As you might expect this feels exactly like a big Saab. Because it is.

All checked in for the return flight. This time it was name, weight, and an ID. No security here either

Also a flight full of vets getting home after an honor trip to DC landed just before our flight got in and they all piled into the bar just as I had to wrap up. Apparently the airport manager bought em all a round. Good on him.
