Thanks again @phxfilmrevival.com for running a great event for the AZ film community. It’s was a pleasure to reconnect with a lot of my fellow photographers, and it was another big motivation to do more with the year we have left. I love these portraits from the megaroll!

From the @phxfilmrevival.com megaroll during their past event this month. Thanks so much for the photo! I can’t wait to meet up again, so glad to connect more with the local analog community finally.

Went to the @phxfilmrevival.com cyanotype workshop this past weekend with @haley.conwaydarkroom.com, and followed that up with some cyanotyping at home.

Experimenting with image transparencies & dry plates on the paper.

A cyanotype created using an image transparency. Originally shot on 6x7, the negative was printed on transparent paper and overlayed on cyanotyping paper for the final exposure. A cyanotype created using a silver gelatin dry plate. This image is much fainter than the previous example, likely due to the thickness of the emulsion on the dry plate. The areas which appear more blue in the image had less emulsion in that particular area.

Little bathroom darkroom setup. This was my first time and first analog print ever! What a magical process. Why did we ever stray away from this, I don't know. Its so much more satisfying than the digital process.

A photograph taken of Hanalei Beach, near where the Hanalei River lets out into the bay. The morning clouds can be seen rolling across the island, while the waves are crashing on the shore. A photograph taken of a swimming hole in Kaua’i. Found near the Wai Koa Stone Dam, locals regularly use the rope seen in the image to swing into the water on a hot day.

Let’s chat! We can now streamline our podcasts and connect with folks near and far.

We’ll be reaching out to a bunch of film photographers to get them on the show. If you have suggestions, let us know!

Glad that @phxfilmrevival.com is on BlueSky now!

If you’re local to Phoenix, I cannot recommend them enough for film & darkroom classes.

If you’re not local to Phoenix, they may be doing another Zine open to international entries this year, so watch out!

Either way - follow them!
