Today is #Take10ToRead day, a reminder that taking even 10 minutes a day to relax through reading can really raise your mood and decrease your stress.

My favourite places to read are on the train, in bed and when I’m eating by myself. You can maybe guess where my reading time today is taking place!

When I was little I had a kitten-sized cat called Treacle who wanted to do everything with me. Her favourite thing was to sit on my shoulders as I walked around and did things. Perfect pirate kitty.

Ooh, beautiful! I love all the drawing competitions there are for kids on Orkney. And yes, definitely! Spent a while in there looking around and reading. It has a fab layout and feels very welcoming. I miss having a library nearby!

I think I’ve seen their posts before but it must have been on a different social media network because I only joined this one recently. I’m definitely following on here now! It’s absolutely fab! I hope I can get the chance to visit in person before I leave. I miss my favourite library since moving.

I did a lot of doodle requests for children who came into the shop, too, and had some good challenges. Cue me wondering exactly where a dolphin’s fins go!

Thank you so much to the Orcadian bookshop for such a wonderful book signing event. I had a lovely time meeting fans (including a budding mystery writer with a notebook full of questions for me), listening to people tell me about themselves and their families - and of course signing books!
