Max length ~2m (~6'7").

Eats mostly rodents and reptiles.

Found in/around New Guinea and in Cape York, Australia.

🐸A group of Colorado River toads (Incilius alvarius) in Malmö Reptilcenter, Sweden.

Max. size 190 mm (7.4").

Largest toad species native to the US.

Poisonous.

Found in the southwestern USA and in northwestern Mexico.

Considered Least Concern by the IUCN.

Apparently it got that popular name because it has two eye-lash protrusions above the eyes which could resemble horns. They are unfortunately difficult to see in this picture. The scientific name means something along the lines of imaginary flat-tail.

Max size ~10 cm (3.9").

Found in tropical forests in northern and central Madagascar.

Threatened by habitat destruction and collection for the pet trade.

Considered Least Concern by the IUCN.

A gecko is clinging on to the vertical trunk of a tree. Like the trunk, the gecko is a mixture of greyish and brownish colours with a hint of green mixed in. Spines can be seen in multiple places on this gecko. They help in breaking up the outline of the gecko.

Well, they were sharing a very large terrarium along with other conspecifics. They may do this every day, but I had only ever seen anything like this in turtles. I thought it was funny.

Named for the black inside of its mouth.

Max confirmed size 380 cm (12'6").

Found in sub-Saharan Africa - prefers habitats like light woodlands, savannas and lowland forests.

🦎Bearded Dragon (Pogona vitticeps) and spiny-tailed monitor (Varanus acanthurus) in Malmö Reptilcenter, Sweden.

Obviously, the bearded dragon found the perfect basking spot and the spiny-tailed monitor then managed to find an even better one.

Max. size 127 mm (5"). Females tend to be larger than males.

Found in Cuba, the Bahamas, and the Cayman Islands. Has been introduced around the Caribbean and to Florida.

Max size ~90 cm (~3'), more than 2/3 of which is the tail.

Found close to water in forests of Cambodia, China, Laos, Thailand and Vietnam.

Omnivorous.

Considered Vulnerable by the IUCN.

Only mildly venomous to humans. Rear-fanged (fangs are located in the back of their jaw).

Found in most of South and Southeast Asia.

Max. size for males 43 mm (1.7"), for females 50 mm (2").

Found in most of mainland Europe as far north as Denmark and southern Sweden as well as in the east to western Ukraine.
