NOTHING is functionally sustainable as long as Citizens United stands. It allows those at the top to have a disproportionate influence in our government, which affects everything in our lives, from our healthcare, education, transportation, safety, basic human rights, as well as the economy.

I was driving through a backwoods Colorado town in literally the middle of nowhere, and there were American flags erected every 20-30 feet or so along the highway FOR MILES. First thoughts were a) Must have a Republican town council and b) Did their tax dollars pay for this & they were okay with it?

They were desperate for stories in the age of decency. Now, the destruction of a historic building is small potatoes compared to the destruction he’s done to literally everything.

I mean, due process first, but not bullshit due process like Trump’s gotten. You know, where the high priced lawyers drag the case out ad nauseam, then the case gets thrown out or the verdict is watered down. Trump should be forced to get his due process using a public defender.

I grew up in BFE West Virginia in the 70s, where racist language and ideals were the norm. By the advent of the internet, most people I know had been exposed to the realities of the outside world, & changed. If you hadn’t evolved by the time Reddit was created (2005), you’re pretty hopeless.

If every member of Congress won’t agree to laws which allow a finite amount of funds allocated to each candidate, and make these donations 100% transparent, then we have to assume they are corrupt. If we can’t end Citizens United, then we need to regulate it. @endcitizensunited.bsky.social

This should be bipartisan! Can we trust that any of them, Democrat or Republican, will do the right thing when the big donors start throwing the money around? That’s why I’ll believe it when I see it. (I hate I’ve become such a cynic!)

The only way to get the Democratic message to all the people is to take out ads on Fox News and other such programs & tell them! If we make them realize we’re not only about pronouns and giving their tax $ to layabouts, literally all of them will want what we’re selling. @democrats.org

I could be mistaken, because the timeline is very murky, but I thought they were sealed in 2019 or 2020, before Biden took office? Some were released in 2024 but a FL judge ordered others to remain sealed for whatever reason 🤷🏼‍♀️.

Weren’t they sealed by the former Trump administration for a period of time because of Ghislaine Maxwell’s legal defense or something like that? I’m not 100% convinced there is anything specific about Trump in those files, but they sure seem like they don’t want them released for some reason.
