Honestly, it didn’t feel crafted or deliberate, like the outcome of a plan, just a settling in and deeper acceptance, and with that more joy and contentment. Like, I *worked* for this, for sure, but I think it was more attentiveness to my actual life and not trying to become something.

Having spent so much of my life in theological circles, I read this opening line while scrolling as about the bible and thought, fair enough, haha.

But that is so frustrating when bands do that. Especially as so many of us like and listen to whole albums.

And, I am just less scared. Of myself, others, life. A better sense of my limits and my lane, and a sense that that’s okay. Yeah, some more aches and pains or whatnot, too, but absolutely possible to just feel, more settled in who you are and how that shows up in the world.

It’s so true. My heart breaks a lot with everything and yet is filled with a deep sense of spaciousness and peace, a sense that I deserve to take up the space I do—to use my full name, Timothy, with all three syllables—and that I do not need to be liked by all but still deserve and demand respect.

My 40s are better than my 30s, shit probably the best yet and stuff is really hard. If you’re in your 30s and shit feels rough, take courage. It’s not only downhill from there. You can come to a place where you just give a bit less of a fuck and so find more ease and joy. Build and hope toward that.

I really wish Democrats would oppose it, and with less dramatic fear and moralizing and more scorn and derision. “Oh grow up, not everyone who disagrees with you is a terrorist.” Or, “it’s hard to know how to respond to a leadership so untethered from reality and common sense and basic decency.”
