In light of Metal Threat going completely mask off with bringing two of best known nazi bands to their lineup I think it's more critical now than ever for us to vet artists in our preferred musical realm.

Yeah, maybe a simpler way is exactly that: if you don’t want to end up playing a nazi fest, you actually need to pay attention and care instead of ignore and shrug like it’s not too big a deal. I don’t think bands will learn that lesson from all this but I wish they would.

We get so focused on the moral, we sometimes overlook the practical. So like, a question I’d love to know from these bands and others is how are y’all gonna make sure you don’t end up here again. Like, it’s not about one bad promoter but dynamics you gotta look at clearly and make decisions.

And, I think that gives opportunities to pull folks in, like, yeah, you didn’t take this shit seriously and then, like we told ya, the sketchy bands just kept pushing the line and next thing you know these bands are contracted into a fest with nazis.

Okay, the main thing is that the question of whether a band is cool playing shows with open nazis is a straightforward moral one, and the question “how do I avoid playing shows with nazis” is practical, and a lot of people thought they could just skip the practical part and not worry about “sketch”

Yes, that’s my sense. AND, I hope bands see and learn from this that the whole don’t care, don’t pay attention on this stuff might end up with them in a situation they don’t want to be in.
