Do I think the Interstellar Song Contest is pro genocide? No. But it still paints (space) Eurovision as this uniting event that Allows Cora to resist at the end and doesn’t unpack that it enables the hellian genocide by taking blood money and refusing to let Hellians sing.

Exactly this. The doctor makes 0 attempt to connect or even appeal to kid or figure out why he’s getting “revenge about the corporation” (something which should stick out to the doctor) just immediate “I’ll watch you freeze to death” and then relentless electrocution??

Am I the only one absolutely fine with longer breaks between seasons if it means more episodes? Because only 8 doesn’t feel like enough at ALL unless your companion is staying for at least 1.5 seasons.

Can't overstate how good the new season of Doctor Who is. The new episode The Story and the Engine is such a fantastic ode to storytelling itself. Amazing telly.

If UNIT had more science going for it and we saw that, it would make a bit more sense as the anti-vax/anti-science allegory people are reading it as, but since they’ve pretty much just been a military force this era it clashes.
