One of several No Kings events in & around Pittsburgh - it was a beautiful day in the neighborhood
Summer Lee was at the downtown Pittsburgh protest and Chris Deluzio was at 2 different suburban ones, Mt. Lebanon and Sewickley - the latter is one of the wealthiest suburbs in Western PA and it had a great turnout.
I'm on a constituent call with my Congressman (Chris DeLuzio) at the moment- one caller asked this very question! So it's broken through in Western PA. Also will shout out Rep. DeLuzio for answering questions from all sides and for explaining quite well what's going on with the shutdown and why.
My husband makes very spicy, aromatic chili and adds water chestnuts- they don't add flavor but do add interesting texture and absorb some of the heat. (
We here in PA are already overwhelmed by the ads! After last year's saturation, I was looking forward to a break until the mid-terms but alas, Jeffrey Yass has seemingly bottomless pockets to pay for the "Vote No" campaign.
Why does the headline say that the Dems voted to shut down government? That is not what happened!
Lamb was my congressman & suited this purple district well. I think people thought that McCormick, not Oz, would be the GOP nom, so Fetterman would be more of a contrast. In retrospect, Lamb would have crushed Oz & though he comes off as centrist, he'd be in the mold of Casey, who was a good senator

we need evidence of two things: first, that trump can distinguish fantasy from reality and second, that trump is actually president
We are frequent visitors to Portland and environs and were last there in early September. This was our experience as well. Stayed at The Nines right on Pioneer Square and walked around at all hours. My only regret is that we weren't there on a Saturday to catch the excellent farmers market.
Little bit of everything, but I won't chance icy or too snowy conditions. Otherwise I don't mind cold temps (mid-20s is my cutoff) except if it's very windy; the cold can be invigorating. But once the days get short, runs are mostly on my treadmill (my pandemic purchase) as I'm an evening runner.
Never forget-
When you have an administration that so constantly, shamelessly, openly lies, pretty soon there’s no faith in any information streams coming from the administration, so there’s no way to convey true information in a way that lands right, which leads to more chaos.
This is the most corrupt DOJ in my lifetime, and my lifetime includes the Watergate years.
For my friends, everything; for my enemies, the law

In a less insane time, if it was discovered that the President of the United States said this privately to their AG, it would’ve triggered an all-encompassing, impeachable corruption scandal.

Here, Trump is saying it publicly and it’s just another Saturday.

There is no world in which it is normal for the president to publicly call upon his attorney general to hurry up and prosecute his political foes. It’s like the Watergate tapes but posted on social media. Let’s get a grip on what’s happening here.
Booked online at my local CVS yesterday (in PA); got an appt. today. I completed the online intake form & responded truthfully (I have none of the listed conditions; I'm under age 65, though over 60). No questions asked. Also got flu & 1st shingles shot at the same time. My company ins. covers all.
Did they "clash" or was only one side doing the clashing?

A grim reminder: these people will never be satisfied. There’s no point at which they will say “we’ve won, let’s enjoy life.” They will always be looking for someone else to punish, to revile, to dehumanize. They’re empty without that.
Our 1st house had a massive deck with a Chippendale-style railing installed by the prior owners. Each panel had 36 pieces of wood that had to be stripped, sanded & painted, which took all of our non-working time for an entire summer/fall. We sold that house before having to do that again.
What a truly awful person he is. I'll never understand why the whole lot of them didn't just walk away on the spot or at the very least speak up for her.
Trump tells a reporter who asks him about going to war with American cities to “be quiet” and “listen”
Just want to say that I have learned a lot from following you. Thanks for another important history lesson.
Dear Portland, we love you but you're bringing us down today. Begging whoever smashed& grabbed our car near the PJG a black carryon bag w/small women's clothing, shoes& toiletries, plus items of very sentimental value, & other valuables in a nylon shoulder bag to please return them, no ??? asked.

This “explicit” is a weird editorial choice. The constitution gives the president no power over this at all. It’s not ambiguous.
Republicans did this. Bill Cassidy in particular is responsible for this.
I am proud to be a monthly supporter of ProPublica.

This is the story of how DOGE targeted Halimi on social media.

Then the Taliban took his family. 🧵
