I documented every day of Trump’s first term and I’ve covered Project 2025 since 2023.

The threat of Trump’s authoritarianism has been the focal point of my journalism for a decade.

So I’m not spreading false hope when I say Trump is weakening & MAGA is fracturing. It’s clear.
When I've written and made appearances about Trump's weakness, this is what I'm talking about.

The avalanche of losses (political, legal, cultural) that Trump and his authoritarian ambitions have been dealt are mounting.

The threat is still real, but he's very clearly flailing.

When your authoritarianism is based on a foundation of incompetence, that authoritarianism is doomed to fail.

It’s been clear to many of us that Trump’s deepening political weakness is destroying the GOP.

It took a seismic shellacking in the 2025 elections for some Republicans to realize this truth.

More to come. Watch their behavior. The lame duck era is here.

quite a look for Trump today

After reading MTG’s resignation statement, a few things are clear to me:

1) MTG completed her break from Trump after sensing his political weakness

2) She’s resigning to avoid a wasteful primary

3) She’s going to seek higher office and run against the Trump Admin’s failures and betrayals of MAGA

The thing about Trump is he secretly wants the approval of the people he attacks. They’re stand-ins for the liberal “elites” he felt rejected by in NYC.

When he sees them in person and they’re even slightly nice to him, he melts.

Most notable example was Obama. Now, Mamdani.
Trump frickin' loves this guy lmao

I’ve heard a lot of defenses of Trump from Republican lawmakers and figures. They use filler words like “imperfect” or “unconventional.” But I have never heard them argue that he’s a good person. That speaks volumes about his character.
November 21, 2025 at 12:20 AM
Powerful stuff from Senator Murphy. This outrage should be echoed by all lawmakers and people of influence. There is zero defense for this.

Republicans who still back this weak, lame duck as he belligerently crashes out need to rethink if it’s worth this descent to the bottom.
The President of the United States just called for Democratic members of Congress to be executed. "HANG THEM", he posted.

If you're a person of influence in this country and you haven't picked a side, maybe now would be the time to pick a fucking side.

History won’t look kindly on the people who lied for this administration
Kaitlan Collins to Leavitt as she walks off: "Karoline, you misquoted Democrats in that video. That's actually not what they said."

If there was literally any coherence to Trump's economic policy, then maybe asking for patience would be a reasonable ask.

But Trump's tariff strategy makes no sense. They're inflationary with no concrete end goal. They're levied based on his mood and geopolitical grievances.
Vance on the economy:

"The thing that I'd ask for the American people is a little bit of patience."
November 20, 2025 at 6:58 PM
This is one of many posts from Trump today directed at veteran Democratic lawmakers who released a video simply urging service members to defy unlawful orders—which by law they have a duty to do.

Trump also reposted a call for them to be hanged.

This is indefensible. Depraved.
Insanity

We’re seeing the folly in Trump’s prioritization of loyalty above competence.

Sure, he got Lindsey Halligan to rush out that Comey indictment, but she predictably didn’t do it right.

When you replace expertise with thoughtless sycophancy, you get failure. Congrats, Donald.

Next thing to watch is if the DOJ uses this investigation as a smokescreen to restrict the release of certain Epstein files that are damaging to President Trump
Bondi on the Epstein investigations that Trump demanded: "We're not gonna say anything else on that because now it is a pending investigation in SDNY"

On Sunday, Epstein survivors released a PSA calling for the release of the Epstein files. Zero right-wing outlets covered it.

On Tuesday, Fox News ignored the Epstein survivors' press conference.

Right-wing media are distorting their Epstein coverage.

Compound Trump and the GOP’s political weakness with their floundering gerrymandering push and the GOP is looking cooked in 2026. Flambéed. Burnt.

Has anything this administration done not backfired spectacularly? Foolish overreach brings foolish consequences

The cracks in the MAGA coalition are deepening into fractures under the weight of Trump’s failures and political weakness.

Multiple polls show Trump's disapproval among Republicans hitting double digits, with one poll finding as high as 23% disapproval.

Can confirm that Fox News totally ignored the press conference where Epstein survivors and lawmakers called for the release of the Epstein files.

Last week, they ignored key revelations from the Epstein emails. These omissions depict a false reality to their viewers.

Trump's lame duck era is being defined by failures on affordability, overreach, and political weakness.

His approvals are tanking, he weighed down the GOP in the 2025 elections, and fractures are deepening within the MAGA coalition.

The GOP is looking weak heading into 2026.

People are underestimating the cracks in the MAGA coalition. I haven’t seen this many MAGA influencers split with Trump since January 6.

The polling data indicating drops in GOP support for Trump are being reflected in real world anecdotes.

This shift, if sustained, could be big.

The replies to this post have been among the most negative I’ve seen from MAGA Twitter against Trump. They’re repulsed Trump would mock Massie for marrying after his wife died.

It seems they finally see what Trump critics have seen for over a decade: Trump is depraved.

This is who he’s always been

This Marjorie Taylor Greene and Trump schism was inevitable once she started adjusting her political positioning.

I called this last month. MTG sees where the winds are blowing. Trump is weak. He’s failing on affordability and his overreach is backfiring. So she’s pivoting 👇🏾
Marjorie Taylor Greene is one of the only Republicans who sees where this is headed.

Trump is weak. He’s tanking the economy and raising prices. He’s underwater on key issues. The GOP is likely headed to a midterm loss.

This isn’t a moral awakening. MTG is positioning herself for a post-Trump GOP.
