We should stop arguing about Democrat/GOP and Liberal/Conservative. Who is the best leader; Corporatists, Oligarchs, or the working class person. Democrats and the GOP consider what is best for a corporation, even if that means health care for the workers. Oligarchs want what is best for them.

A simple tea cup, but the things that went into making it just so are not so simple.

Yellow iron glaze, high fired in gas reduction to 1300C. Speckled stoneware clay.

It's quite big. Will hold a mug's worth of liquid.

1 - Nuka wood ash glaze on local stoneware
2 - Sea salt shino on PSH 580 stoneware
3 - ??? (maybe tenmoku) on local stoneware
4 - Bone ash glaze (with actual fin whale skull bone ash!) on PSH stoneware

The fired Fort Walton Incised (ca. 900-1500 CE) bowl.

It has 2 spots where rosin came out pinholes & charred. Never had that happen before, but some of the clay came from an upland pine treefall, so I missed a couple of rootlets. #ceramics #archaeology
Bowl with an incised line on the shoulder & heel. Between the lines is an interlocking scroll design with the background outside the scroll punctated.

A handmade urn. Gritty dark grey clay with patchy brown-black surface, on a grey background. Flat base; rounded body encircled with 6 small raised rounded bosses w. each panel in between filled w. a line of 3 impressions of a round rosette-stamp w. appr. 13 divisions and below, 6 to 8 vertical slashes; above, around neck, 3 incised lines; bowl curves in at area of bosses but none of the neck survives. Close-up of a label stuck to the side of the urn. The word "Girton" in black ink can be read.
