A little light-hearted found family story about robots starting a noodle shop full of charming characters.

Wish it had been longer because it woulda been interesting to just see more, but I think it then couldn't have been as light. Similar vibe to TJ Klune's books.

I've been hearing from a lot of booksellers and readers that Automatic Noodle is sold out in stores. We have a 2nd printing in the works! In the meantime, please backorder the book from your local indie so the publisher knows you want it. That helps me and the bookstore! bookshop.org/p/books/auto...

For reasons, I didn’t have much help with my new bb to for the first 3ish months, but as a result I’ve mastered reading her sleep & hunger cues through sheer number of hours caring for her.

The pleasure of knowing exactly what I’m doing reaffirms my belief that AI robs us of the joy of being human.

Like, working on a new skill is often a chore, but being good at something and knowing exactly how you’ve arrived at being good—there’s no pleasure like sinking your teeth into the fruit of your labor.

Hooray! It's so nice to feel nice after doing the things

Hah..yeah, I kinda wish they wouldn't come back, but then I try to remember that they are an integral part of my experiences, too, and maybe worth giving space for. It's just cumbersome. This living a life with emotional interiority thing 💜

It's just all so exhausting, and I don't know if rage posting just makes me angrier or if it is somehow cathartic, but I also don't want to be stoking other people's negative feelings and rage because I think we're all run down by all the terrible things. 😞

Aw, thanks! It's just..I remember reading a study that ppl repost things that they find negatively outrageous, and I don't want to do that, but so much stuff lately is....omg wtf, this is the effing worst, and I don't really want to make other people feel that way, too. 😔

Ooh, that's exciting! When do you think you might go? And do you think you might try some places outside of Seoul this time or is there still a bunch of stuff to do there for you?

Ah, unfortunately, none for me. It's been a bit rough on the money and time side lately. 😥

It's not homework! And the inability to feel moved by something I know I love even in the short term still feels strange and sad to me.

The ratio of bad to good things that I encounter lately is just...hard to deal with. And I'm lucky. I have a lot of IRL friends who are great, and a kind of job that sometimes feels meaningful, and I'm close to my family and support network even if that's hard sometimes. And I'm still sad. Sucks

I do generally want to be more positive or at least not just be angry/sad on the internet all the time because I feel like it doesn't really help anyone, but ugh it's feeling pretty awful rn a lot of the time

My own brother sincerely believes his "3d chess" is altruistic for working class people.

I wish I was in a brain space to just be really into fandom, but I haven't been. So I'm sorry if you follow me for BTS stuff, but I'm spewing a bunch of sad thoughts and random stuff onto your skyline.

Which ik is not even the right way to think about it because it's not like species development is akin to psychological maturation. We are not gaining wisdom as we move through geologic time, just adapting to the circumstances presented circumstances. Eh, idk idk

I'm feeling kinda sad is all

A while back, I read that the average mammalian species has lasted about a million years, and sapiens is ~250,000 years in. So we're adults but not an old species. And I just think about that a lot and of what version of us will make it to a million years or if we're living fast and dying young.

Numbers are just words, I guess

At least in modern records, the volcanic winters only last a year (year without summer 1816), and maybe we get a decade long mini ice age.

It's bad because of crop failure but not worldwide apocalyptic like humans are obliterated unless you're geographically close to the eruption.

Fuck those shitbags. I hope they have gastric distress out both ends

For clarification, this is a one hundred percent sincere post. I am actually feeling very happy about finding this parking lot tomato.

Gave my small package of gummy bears to a kid that said he was hungry and found this parking lot tomato. Seems like a fair trade. Thanks universe.

Looking forward to washing and eating it when I get home.
A lovely red cherry tomato in my hand that I just picked up in a parking lot.
