For reasons, I didn’t have much help with my new bb to for the first 3ish months, but as a result I’ve mastered reading her sleep & hunger cues through sheer number of hours caring for her.

The pleasure of knowing exactly what I’m doing reaffirms my belief that AI robs us of the joy of being human.

Hah..yeah, I kinda wish they wouldn't come back, but then I try to remember that they are an integral part of my experiences, too, and maybe worth giving space for. It's just cumbersome. This living a life with emotional interiority thing 💜

The ratio of bad to good things that I encounter lately is just...hard to deal with. And I'm lucky. I have a lot of IRL friends who are great, and a kind of job that sometimes feels meaningful, and I'm close to my family and support network even if that's hard sometimes. And I'm still sad. Sucks

Which ik is not even the right way to think about it because it's not like species development is akin to psychological maturation. We are not gaining wisdom as we move through geologic time, just adapting to the circumstances presented circumstances. Eh, idk idk

A while back, I read that the average mammalian species has lasted about a million years, and sapiens is ~250,000 years in. So we're adults but not an old species. And I just think about that a lot and of what version of us will make it to a million years or if we're living fast and dying young.

At least in modern records, the volcanic winters only last a year (year without summer 1816), and maybe we get a decade long mini ice age.

It's bad because of crop failure but not worldwide apocalyptic like humans are obliterated unless you're geographically close to the eruption.
