It's not homework! And the inability to feel moved by something I know I love even in the short term still feels strange and sad to me.

The ratio of bad to good things that I encounter lately is just...hard to deal with. And I'm lucky. I have a lot of IRL friends who are great, and a kind of job that sometimes feels meaningful, and I'm close to my family and support network even if that's hard sometimes. And I'm still sad. Sucks

I do generally want to be more positive or at least not just be angry/sad on the internet all the time because I feel like it doesn't really help anyone, but ugh it's feeling pretty awful rn a lot of the time

My own brother sincerely believes his "3d chess" is altruistic for working class people.

I wish I was in a brain space to just be really into fandom, but I haven't been. So I'm sorry if you follow me for BTS stuff, but I'm spewing a bunch of sad thoughts and random stuff onto your skyline.

Which ik is not even the right way to think about it because it's not like species development is akin to psychological maturation. We are not gaining wisdom as we move through geologic time, just adapting to the circumstances presented circumstances. Eh, idk idk

I'm feeling kinda sad is all

A while back, I read that the average mammalian species has lasted about a million years, and sapiens is ~250,000 years in. So we're adults but not an old species. And I just think about that a lot and of what version of us will make it to a million years or if we're living fast and dying young.

Numbers are just words, I guess

At least in modern records, the volcanic winters only last a year (year without summer 1816), and maybe we get a decade long mini ice age.

It's bad because of crop failure but not worldwide apocalyptic like humans are obliterated unless you're geographically close to the eruption.

Fuck those shitbags. I hope they have gastric distress out both ends

For clarification, this is a one hundred percent sincere post. I am actually feeling very happy about finding this parking lot tomato.

Gave my small package of gummy bears to a kid that said he was hungry and found this parking lot tomato. Seems like a fair trade. Thanks universe.

Looking forward to washing and eating it when I get home.
A lovely red cherry tomato in my hand that I just picked up in a parking lot.

1. Scientists flossed mice. And delivered a vaccine through the floss!

2. This could mean people could self administer vaccines, something vital in a pandemic.

3. Ok but wait you want me to FLOSS!? Like let's not get wild here...

How flossing a mouse's teeth could lead to a new kind of vaccine
Flu viruses often enter the body through mucous tissue in the nose. Researchers are developing new ways to protect such areas.

Actually had an okay class today that made me feel like teaching isn't just a wash. We talked about vaccine hesitancy and how vaccines work and how systemic data can tell us things that personal experience can't.

Also, the complicatedness of many seemingly conflicting things being true at once.

Taehyung in rich widow chic is actually kind of one of my favorites

Bonus win, I taught my brother how to disassemble the p-trap and check for leaks after putting it back together so maybe next time he can deal with this instead!
