So. We need to fill our feed out a little. Tell us who we should be following for the good genre and genre adjacent stuff. Authors, reviewers, commentators, all the good people.

Fun, serious, wry, excitable - bring them all.

Me: Oh hi Michigan, it's been a while
Me: I see we've added a few highway lanes
Me: And a few stores
Me: And I see we still don't understand how to make a left turn 🤦‍♂️

Apparently this setting doesn't follow when you log in to a new browser--or maybe it just reset on it's own--because I had to retoggle it :/
Anyway, today's a good day to turn off autoplay.
if you do not want to watch the video, go to settings > content and media and uncheck the "autoplay videos and gifs" box right now

Gay Wizards are IN for 2026. Get in on the ground floor, you could not possibly be more chic than Gay Wizards.
I have a short story in Neon Hemlock’s SHATTER THE SUN. It stars Phasian, Paragon of the Seven Veils, known by some as the Peacock Wizard. He’s having a bad time in a very snaky sinkhole!

Pumped by K.M. Neuhold (2nd) I’m just a nerd, standing in front of a bench press, asking it not to humiliate me in front of my gym crush I’ve never walked into a gym on purpose in my life, and I’m not sure which part is more shocking, the massive beefcake who immediately challenges me to arm wrestle or the fact that I kind of want to come back.

I don't think folks are ready for this book
Cat is out of the bag! Tor declined my suggestion to include in the blurb "sapphic Winter Soldier, but wizards"; however this is in fact the only accurate way to describe this book torpublishinggroup.com/call-me-trai...

The weirdest part about learning how to play an instrument is the missing-limb feeling when you're away from home and don't have it around.
It's kinda like not having my laptop to write when I travel.

I have to travel to Michigan this week and I'd really like whoever is in charge of the weather to either make it snow or no snow, but the horrible slushy inbetween, plskthx.

Oh man, I'm so glad I jumped ship from Microsoft now 😬
Microsoft is so fucking stupid.

Microsoft renamed Microsoft Office to Microsoft 365 Copilot App

I'm not joking

A year ago I was looking for a simple cleaning app that would help me offload the cognitive load of remembering when we'd last cleaned the windows/chicken coop/bathtub and instead better share what needed to be done out with the family.
I found all that and more in the Tody app.

This is your semi-regular reminder that I love to hear about queer sff -- of course -- but I also love the shit out of anything with necromancy.
So please, if you know about a book with one or the other -- or both!! -- yell at me.

This book! This book!!!
Please put this queer and wonderfully sapphic and painfully everything book on your radar for 2026
Right. I have at least ONE THING to look forward to in the second half of this year (I heard @everinamaxwell.bsky.social mention this last year at Eastercon and I was sold even then):

Found a thread about readers' favorite line that live rent free in their heads from a book, and now I'm curious:
Writers, what's a line from one of *your* books that lives forever rent-free in your head?

Holy shit I feel like I'm finally coming up for air. Hi it's 2026, when did that happen.
I already have two (strike that) three big trips planned for the year, one of which is SIRENS (hello! hi! it's back!!) in March and ahhh, to be around bookish folks again!

What was the last book you read/were reading in 2025 & what is the 1st of 2026?

I decided to close out last year by starting the We Will Rise Again anthology, which means @rblemberg.bsky.social 's story was the thing I read before spending midnight battling fireworks with Zim. Continuing it today.

Thread up and down, but tl;dr if you still use LJ or once did and always kinda sorta thought you'd like to save your old posts, uh
Now's the time to archive that shit.
I am very, very conscious of how it looks for me to be saying this, because I own and operate a direct competitor to LJ, but: I strongly suspect, from all these signals, that Sberbank is preparing to either sell the outside-Russia part of LJ if they can find a buyer, or shut it down if they can't.
