Actually had an okay class today that made me feel like teaching isn't just a wash. We talked about vaccine hesitancy and how vaccines work and how systemic data can tell us things that personal experience can't.

Also, the complicatedness of many seemingly conflicting things being true at once.

Thanks! Yeah, it just is what it is. I never feel okay out right saying no to little things, but I couldn't just acquiesce to the marriage thing. It's just tiring to have to re-litigate every once in a while.

Omg, the maggots. They were just everywhere and I had to squish them and wipe them off my kitchen floor, and I don't understand how it got so bad so quickly. Like wtf? Sorry if this is totally graphic. They don't even bother me that much, but it was just a lot to deal with.

Well, my dad is 73 so I think he is exempt (tho he never took care of this stuff either 🙄). I think she believes I should just have a slightly better (read more moneyed) version of her life and that that would be great, and I just...couldn't do it to myself.

My mother thinks that if I were married, it woulda been husband's job to take care of the plumbing, and I can tell you that with the type of guy she wanted me to marry, I'd still be doing all this shit but also raising a man baby and expected to give him sex despite not even like sex.

How am I still not seen as an adult at 38? I take care of myself and others. I get my shit done. I'm good at getting shit done despite chronic depression and ADHD. I've kept learning stuff into middle age.

And somehow it's all not enough because I didn't marry a man and have children.

I am so tired. Today alone, I did a last minute pants length alteration, cleared a massive fatberg out of the p-trap of my parents' kitchen sink, graded papers, and when I went to take out the trash found literally hundreds of maggots crawling up the side of the trashcan.

I ran out of the right thread color for this and had to go to a store 30 min away.

And fortunately it wasn't denim, but denim is a total beast to sew on a basic home machine. Especially at places with overlapping seams!
