charisma is relative to audiences I suppose. I wouldn't be very good at toadying up to aging conservative billionaires, have to imagine there's a knack to that, it just doesn't overlap much with traditional human interaction

It's tempting to treat "the American right is a death cult" as rhetorical hyperbole, but when you look at e.g. their enthusiasm for executing people who are *clearly* innocent, no actually these people really do just worship and revel in death and murder

The clear split on Dem shutdown strategy is between:
a) the political folks who thing moving the conversation to health care is an electoral win
b) people whose eyes are wide open to extreme authoritarianism and think the main way out is Congress reasserting itself

FBI agents assigned to Musk concluded he was systematically avoiding conduct standards imposed on those holding high-level clearances. FBI management concluded it could do nothing about this because of Musk's ties to Trump and the GOP.

it definitely can be, I was out in a VERY rural town (less than 200 residents). one thing I learned from Finland I think is that low speeds make a giant difference. people drive like fucking maniacs on my residential street, they wouldn't do that if it had cobblestones and/or speed cameras

same. I think the free time aspect of it is especially tough for prospective parents, it might help to try and copy what France is doing where parenting hours are down over time
