No. We had a place in Leland called Cicero’s that was our bbq and catfish place, and another called Lillos for Italian and pizza. Both as good as restaurants anywhere I lived.

OPM started laying off feds again yesterday - the administration and some Congressional leadership are acting like it's BECAUSE of the shutdown. I explain why that is nonsense and my concerns for how all this impacts federal science. Also discuss impactful wx East and West. tinyurl.com/yc7mtndv

We used to go to Delta State to watch football and basketball games. Football was a hoot with college kids dressed in sport coats and dresses while us displaced Midwesterners were in jeans and sweatshirts. 😁 Cleveland seemed like a nice town for the area.

Sad to see this in the town we lived in when I started in the NWS. Wife taught in the public schools which were the first to integrate in Mississippi. The Delta has lost fully 1/3 of its population due to economic and social reasons.

There’s no fucking debate, only wild ass conspiracy theories promoted by people who don’t know their head from their anal sphincter.

He’s a good one I’m sure. Having spent much time in Peru, he sees immigration from that perspective. Having grown up in Chicago he most certainly understands it there. You don’t become the largest Polish city in the world without immigration and anyone with a brain can see it daily if they look.

The Isabella Tiger Moth (Pyrrharctia Isabella) and its larval form, the wooly bear caterpillar. Contrary to popular belief by some in the US, there is no correlation between the color of wooly bear bands (bands may be black or rust colored) and subsequent winter weather.

Hahahahaha source. Since when the fuck did these clowns ever need a source.

There is one like it in Indianapolis. It was quite excellent with more types of chicken salad than I could ever imagine.

I wrote several papers about how bad corn ethanol was going to be around 2010, so I am not surprised.
We should always remind ourselves that biofuels are complements not substitutes for fossil fuels, b/c they are used in ICEs and have limited scalability.
They are a big ag and big oil PR mechanism.

NEW: Biofuels globally emit more than the fossil fuels they replace, our latest study shows.

The first-of-a-kind study looks at global biofuels production today and the potential impacts of government biofuel targets.

La Niña and a warm Blob. How often does that combination occur?

Thanks! I do too, sometimes to the detriment of landscape design.

And it really sucks when they start scratching them off right in front of you and don't even leave the counter.

In the original Vox post (this is a gift link) there are several comments about how this is a distraction from going after big oil, but the reality is that big oil and big ag are very close allies. Their goal is the status quo, where they thrive. Their strategies (and PR firms) are often the same.

Rarely is anything they show healthy even by non-vegan standards. There used to be a PBS show The Jazzy Vegetarian which made an attempt.
