For me, EC science fiction Woody is the best Wally Wood.

It's a classic episode and one of my favourites. I have an excellently packaged boxset of the series on DVD that I bought over 20 years ago. Am treating myself to an upgrade, the remastered 60th anniversary Blue Ray box set.

Nice! I bought that on release as a kid and remember that great poster well. Originally done for one of Marvel's New York conventions. Love those landscape comics!

Can't believe anyone would get bent out of shape over something like this.🤦🏽‍♂️ They need to get their priorities right and save their energy for the really important things in life.

I dropped the title pretty quick after Rick Veitch left, as you say it wasn't great. I wouldn't return until Grant Morrison and Mark Millar rebooted the title and then Millar with @philhester.bsky.social and some guest artists went on to produce a lengthy top quality 2 year+ run. Brilliant comics.

Busiek and Perez were really starting to cook at this point. They had returned The Avengers into being a top quality, must read comic which it hadn't been for a long time.

That's a great poster. I went to see the film at the cinema as a kid, but I'm pretty sure we had a different poster here in the UK as I don't remember it either.

This and Batman Year One are my favourite works by Miller. Ironic as he didn't draw either of them, but he had fantastic collaborators.

Ah I never got that one. I did get the '76 Avengers Annual though. 🙂

Yes, they were very common. Shelves filled with those huge glass jars of sweets. 😊 All gone now.

I hated Ms. Afro as a character for years. To me Starlin's Mar-Vell was *the* definitive Captain Marvel in the Marvel Universe. So when they gave his name to a(imo) generic new hero straight after he died, I found it really disrespectful to the Kree capt. Really pi**ed me off. I wasn't at all happy.

Finally. It's so rare that a large company or corporation will "right a wrong" for a positive reason or when they don't have to have to, so kudos to DC for finally letting this see print Especially as Rick Veitch said, to editorial, @mariejavins.bsky.social & Alex Galer for pushing it over the line.

My longtime (near lifelong) pal Rick Veitch announced this earlier today, OK for me to share now, here, with you.

It's real. It's happening. At long last.

Good to hear you enjoyed it.

Such a great scene, one of so many during Alan Moore's iconic Swamp Thing stint. One of the all time great comic runs.

The production design (as in the rest of the film), music, costumes etc in that scene are so good. Plus Beau Garett, what a babe !

Magneto in full on perv mode mode on that splash page ! 😄🙈🙈 Obviously didn't know Wanda was his daughter at this point! 😬

Classic silver age Supes! Such a great story that I read and reread many times as it was reprinted in this great 100 pager which is one of the 1st ever comics kid me bought off the spinner rack 😊 I got it from my favourite corner shop at the time, a tobacconist/sweetshop very near where I lived.

Yup. Such a fantastic soundtrack by them.
