I’ve personally never seen BDSM as “roleplay”. For me it’s more about tapping into something deep inside your psyche which is brought out by the kit you wear. But there are no “rules” in kink - you do it your way - and hopefully however you play it adds a hell of a lot to the quality of your life.

There’s nothing bad at all about “mutual gratification”. My point is that some guys are not ideally looking for 50/50 play where one guy ties the other up etc and then they swap over. Some are more drawn to a clearer D/s dynamic and I think that’s tough to find.

I think it’s always been the case that there are a relatively small number of guys who are predominantly active and loads of guys who prefer to sub. I don’t actually think a huge amount of play is actually going on these days and most of it is often 50/50 mutual gratification stuff.
