The mayor’s last-minute tax proposal offered no details and no clear plan for how city services would be affected. Vancouver deserves facts and transparency, not political theatre.

Two good things about @rebeccaleebligh.bsky.social from what I have seen:
1. Works hard and listens to reason.
2. Fundamentally a decent and kind person. I wouldn't be very worried about corruption stuff if she were mayor and I think she'd give a lot of attention to homelessness/addiction.

Vancouver councillor Rebecca Bligh makes official she will run for mayor next year under a new banner of “Vote Vancouver”.

Bligh was first elected in 2018 with the NPA, left them, joined Sim’s ABC Party and was re-elected, before she was booted from ABC, mostly on divisions over social issues.

Yes, I second this.

@rebeccaleebligh.bsky.social was one of the key votes on climate action (stopping the mayor from backtracking on fossil gas in buildings) and she made a principled stand on supportive housing.

I think she’d be a great mayor.

Infrastructure might not be the trigger for the housing crisis, but it’s a major piece of the puzzle that can’t be ignored – and we can’t turn housing aspirations into reality without it.

Building more homes is a shared vision. Now we need the infrastructure to make it real
Everyday infrastructure like roads, bridges, pipes, public transit, stormwater management is critical to turning housing aspirations into reality.

On this Day of Truth and Reconciliation, the City of Vancouver recognizes the importance of this day and the work that still lies ahead. It is a somber day to reflect, and personally we will spend it in community, honouring the experiences of Indigenous peoples and committing to meaningful action.

Honoured to join funding announcement for Willow House in Vancouver. This net-zero Ronald McDonald House will double family support with 75 suites for care & healing.

Proud that FCM’s Green Municipal Fund helped make this possible. Thanks to the Government of Canada & @rmhbc for the partnership.

Last week, FCM 3rd Vice-President Marc Doret joined FQM at their Annual Conference in Quebec City. FCM is working closely with our provincial partners like FQM to bring local priorities, including those of rural Quebec municipalities, into our national advocacy work.

I really appreciate this, Tom. Staying grounded in integrity and compassion is how I strive to lead every day — I’ll continue to bring those values forward as best I can as I run for mayor.

Thank you to Councillor @rebeccaleebligh.bsky.social for meeting with me.

I followed up on constituent concerns, including dangerous intersections & municipal casework.

I look forward to continuing to work with our Vancouver Mayor & Councillors to make the Vancouver-Langara riding better for all.

As FCM President, I welcome PM Carney’s swift action on infrastructure. The Port of Churchill investment is a step toward stronger trade resilience, regional growth, and new opportunities for northern and Indigenous communities.
