It was great to join the Volunteers of America at their food bank in Sultan, where I heard from volunteers and staff about how the government shutdown has impacted them and is increasing local demand for their services.

I stopped by the Snohomish County Public Health Department this week for a tour and discussion with local healthcare providers, where we focused on the importance of advocating for funding that supports affordable, accessible healthcare for those in #WA08.

I am continuing to monitor fires in Central WA. This morning, I toured the burn sites to see the impacts of these fires firsthand, and also had the chance to meet with team members fighting the Labor Mountain Fire in Cle Elum and listen in on a meeting with the Lower Sugarloaf Fire management team.

The Administration’s decision to cancel funding for the Pacific Northwest Hydrogen Hub is plain harmful. It will result in severe economic loss for our region, put thousands of good-paying jobs at risk, and be a major setback for our nation’s energy independence.

I am encouraged by the news of a deal between Israel and Hamas. While I won't breathe easy until we see the remaining hostages actually released, this is an important step forward in ending the war and allowing much-needed aid into Gaza.

I talked with small business owners in Buckley and Enumclaw about how the White River Bridge closure has impacted them. Affected businesses can apply for an Economic Injury Disaster Loan to help cover losses associated with the bridge closure.

I met with the Muckleshoot Tribal Council to hear about how the government shutdown is impacting tribal communities in Washington state. I will continue to fight for the services that they, and so many others, rely on in our district.
